[OBSOLETE] East Asian Advisor Portraits

This mod is in the game now, as of patch 1.20! No need to subscribe to it unless you're using an older patch.


This mod adds 21 hand drawn Advisor Portraits to countries using Asian graphics, from the Jurchens in the north, through China, Korea and Japan, down to Southeast Asia and the Indonesian Sultanates, and everything in between.

Ironman compatible, and works just like Paradox's official portrait DLC- so it won't overwrite the default graphics when you're playing a western nation. Expand into Asia or start as an Asian team to see them.

Currently just male portraits; I'd like to do women too, but it took me 6 months to actually finish drawing these (it takes me an hour+ for each one) so there's a good chance Paradox will have an official version out by the time I get around to it.

@it's still not time Hi, I'm creating a series of EU4-based cartoons set in East Asia 1635. I would like to draw fuller versions of these portraits as characters in my story. I would like to add you on steam and perhaps you could tell me more about these icons (e.g. what culture they each belong to, which real life image/portrait inspired it). Thanks!

Congrats for being in vanilla now. I believe I suggested as such in the paradox forums, nice it actually happened. I will unsubscribe from this mod now as it became obsolete. Hope you could do some similar portrait packs for Imperium Universalis era and other ancient era cultures, especially for Roman, Egyptian, Hellenic, Persian, Scythian, Celtic I would love to see your work ingame.

Your integrated DLC doesn't work. I have 1.2 Ming patch and the military engineer advisor isn't the one shown in your screenshot.

Thank you for making this mod Koramei, like Durutti said before 1.20 the asian potrait is very distracting.

Creative differences aside, at least you made a mod in the first place. Anyway thanks man, I don't reckon i'd have played in east asia as much if it wasn't for the mod - the european portraits were/are very immersion breaking. Cheers.
