How to get Full screen to work (Updated)

Edit: As of the latest update the devs have fixed the issue with Fullscreen and compatibility with Windows 8.1 and 10. This guide should no longer be needed but I'll leave it up just in case.

There seems to be an issue with proper full screen that is related to Windows 8.1. I did some digging in the discussions and found a fix, someone said they would make a guide but never did so I figured I might as well to make it easy to find and for anyone new who just bought this game and is having problems.

I used to play this game in 2020 in fullscreen mode without any issues. It automatically opened in fullscreen. Now I only get windowed mode. Any suggestions?

For anyone who gets immediate crash try experimenting with different resolution settings in D3DConfigUtility.exe. The aspect ratio might be important in your case.

Id like to point out to anyone trying to get this game to work in 2020.

go to the games file
right click the .exe (application) select properties at bottom
go to compatibility tab @ the top
look for Settings
Click "Change high DPI settings" a new window will open
@ bottom, find - "High DPI scaling override"
Check the box and make sure its for application only.
hit OK
Apply
Play

Renaming " shadowman_installscript.vdf to installscript.vdf " worked like a charm, Also picking the correct screen resolution helped bring everything into FULL view.!
Selecting any resolution higher then 1680 x 1050 x 32 in "launch direct3D config utility" would leave the right & bottom of the screen OUT of View !!!
