Intro
Welcome

So basically I wanted to create an extremely thorough guide to Judgment. seeing as there are none so far. So hopefully i stand up to those standards and let's get right into it.

This game is a lot like Banished meets Sheltered. You generate a seeded map and have 3 starter colonists, you must mine, grow, harvest, build and fight to survive.

But the best part about this game is that as you progress the gameplay changes from mining/Farming to scavanging, fighting and training for the end all be all fight at the portal. ANNNND, the best part is, after you finish the portal the game does not end, you are free to finish scavanging the map and resueing survivors :3

Game Modes
Beginner

Reduced Survivor needs, surivors work faster and weaker enemies.
Better loot found in the starting revealed area of the world map.
Significantly longer time before demons start to increase in difficulty.

Normal

Expect a real challenge. You will likely lose in your first few attempts.
They claim this is the way the game should be played, but honestly for learning it sucks because the demons increase in difficulty far too fast and sometimes it gets to the point you can't scavange the items you need to move on because the demons guarding them are far more advanced.
This is the game mode I would suggest you play after you have several hours in game.

It's almost like Beginner is super noob casual gamer, and Normal is tryhard mode.

Custom

Customize different aspects of the game difficulty to fit your preffered challenge level.
  • Needs
  • Work Speed
  • Enemy Levels
  • Enemy Progress
  • Enemy Strength

Casual Is basically an easy mode, from what I have been able to gather. Only available in custom mode.

What I liked to do, and would suggest you guys doing at first is playing on Custom with Enemy Progress/Strength on Casual, and needs/speed/levels on Normal. This makes you ready for the farming and the moving your people around, while giving you a more gradual enemy progressing curve.
Character Traits
Character Traits
Characters can have 1 to 3 traits
They seem to be tied to the character
Map seeds will always have the same characters.

Gameplay Basics
Crafting

When it come to crafting you need to keep in mind that some research items need items in order to unlock that research (See scavanging), So be careful when crafting new things.

Wood, Stones, and Clay are used for everything, gather these in mass amounts.

You will need a bunch of Wood early game, then late game you will need Planks and bricks.

Scavanging

Groups of 5 are the max for scavanging outside the Base camp.

You can send more than one group at a time, be careful sending groups out to locations that they'll reach at the same time as another group, time may pause when you are fighting but, if 2 groups arrived at the same time, only one fight will appear.

There are serveral items that need to be scavanged before you can either make that item, or mine that item in your world.
  • Metals
  • Composites
  • Hides
  • Demonite
  • Gun parts
  • Alcohol
  • Cloth

Researching

You need scraps to do research, they can be lotted at rubble piles in the base, scavanged from locations in the world OR created at base (I played nearly 16 hours before I realised this one!)

3490 research points are needed to complete every researchable item currently unlockable in game.

Personal Tips
I would go for:
  1. Farming
  2. Cooking
  3. Woodworking
  4. Gardening
  5. Bow Making
  6. Brick making
  7. Animal Raising
  8. Metalworking
  9. Mineral Extraction
  10. Guncrafting (DO NOT MAKE A GUN YET)
  11. Firearm Mechanics (Now you can craft your guns)

Occultism

4680 occultism point are needed to fully unlock everything
Occultism is dark research done on a magic circle, unlike normal research occultism is free to research. It unlocks the abilty to do rituals, which have many awesome uses, like revealing hidden clay, stone deposites, automatically watering/harvesting your crops, just to name a few.

Personal Tips
I would go for:
  1. Demon Origins
  2. Rituals
  3. Dark Magic
  4. Resource Finding
  5. Demonite
  6. Holy Magic

Other important Stuffs

One large log cabin can hold a workbench, the research and food tables, plus a bed.
Building a second large cabin and placing the sawmill and furance in the back and beds in the front will take care of 12 colonists, at least.
Building one large stone house will hold all the stations in game, except the Holy/hell forge and the infirmary.

Having 3 farms before day 8 is a very good start.

All other food other than salads require wood to create, honestly, until you've researched rituals you should stick to salads only, even though you've unlocked bread and pasta and the sorts.
Ranged is very good in this game, even moreso when you have 15+ colonists, because of the aggro circles during combat.

I would suggest 1 Melee and 4 Ranged people for Fighting/Scavanging parties to heavily infested locations. If/Once you have the Holy armor give that to the melee guy and the other guys any armor you want, leather is perfectly fine.

For Base defense, pick/clear out a location close to home, that every colonist could reach at a moments notice, and make A large rectangle with only one enterance out of the Spiked Baracades. Reapers, ghost and the possesed, all have a range of 6 or more, so they will be able to shoot inside, but the melee have to pile in through on enterance.

ALWAYS DEAL WITH POSSESED FIRST!!!

Possesed first, then ghosts, Succubus, Reapers, Werewolves, then anything else. The possesed will decimate a colonist in 5 hits, they are no joke.

Having 2 melee people for base defense is very nice because once one takes to much damage you can move him behind the other melee guy to draw the aggro away, and then move him back in to finish off the demons.

I didn't personally find the shotgun or the crossbow useful, either there are stronger options or they are very inaccurate. Personal perference here though, by all means shotgun it up or Darryl Dickson some Demons up, it's your game!

I never needed more than one Sheep pin and one Wheat farm, pair those with 3-5 normal farms and I am feeding 20+ people with ease.

Alters are placed outside, forges are placed inside, don't waste resources making a hut for the alters like I did the first time, lol.

You can place a mine on multiple nodes at once, which is recomended since you only have to build one instead of many.

If you unlock the medical equipment (Accesories) try to heal your colonist before the fight ends, it's free healing, unlike the infirmary.

Once you have a researcher and an occultist go through and completely remove the Scientific and occult research options from any other colonist. Rituals can be narrowed down to only a small few people, honestly one should be enough and it should be your Occultist researcher. I would also drag the deactivation options to the bottom of the priorities list.

Rituals are done at the magic circle, you must stop the production of Occultism first though.

Loot
Walkthrough
I might come back and add some walkthroughs here for you guys, but honestly I think with the other info provided you guys can manage a great playthrough without a detailed list if things that need to be done by a certain time.

I didn't take offense, I said you had no manners and are unrefined. I could never imagine patrolling other peoples' work in attempt to make my own look better, it's a pretty sad mentality, that won't get you very far, but to each their own I guess.

Maybe update your guide instead of taking offense at the truth. If you noticed, I wrote my guide many months ago and have commented on no other guides except this one.

I have a real job; I do not mine clicks (not that I wouldn't like to have a job mining clicks, it just seems like a very unreliable source of income).
ProtoTypeRaavyn  [author] 6 Jun, 2022 @ 5:13am
@smileyill Gotta love when people make guides and then go talk crap about the other guides to draw clicks to their own guide. Very couth.

This guide is hopelessly outdated.
