Description

This is my latest speedrun of Final Fantasy VII. This is the fastest I have managed to beat the game, with a final clear time of 9hrs 43mins. However, I hope to improve on this in the future!

I used 2 glitches, the zolom skip in disc 1 which involves timing a run accross the marshlands to avoid the need for catching a Chocobo. The second skip used was 'the Midgar skip' in disc 2, which involves using an offscreen switch to trigger the Hojo boss battle without the need to parachute into midgar - It also skips over the final turks and Cloud Prod boss battles.

The rest of the speedrun was achieved with careful item/materia management as well as Tifa's Powersoul weapon + Death Sentence/Cursed ring. The Powersoul powers up when near death and the damage is multipled by negative status effects such as doom. This allows Tifa to deal damage far above her level.

My previous best was 11hrs flat so this run cuts off 1:17 of time. Any questions do feel free to ask and I'll be happy to help where I can!
