Learn How to Bhop in CS:GO

Hello,

In this Guide I included the basics to bhoping to people that are new to it and those basics are strafing and key binds.

I wanna say thanks to Brigate011 and to warowl and give credits to them!
I really would like to thank you for reading this. It took quite some time to make and I was tired while doing it so excuse me on any mistakes I made.

Thank you again.

I would love to assist you with any questions! You can leave a comment here. But if you need more assistance please add me on Steam : http://gtm.steamproxy.vip/id/beastgamergr

What is Bunny hopping!!!
Bunny hopping (or commonly shortened to bhopping) is a term used in video games to describe an advanced movement technique in which a player jumps repeatedly, with the addition of strafing using the directional keys and strafe-jumping, in order to become a harder target to hit or (in some games) move faster than normal.
What is Strafe-jumping!!!
In video games, strafing is the technique of moving the player's character from side to side, rather than forward and backward. In the context of first-person shooters, it refers to the movement alone, even when no weapon is being fired. Sidestepping is an integral part of any first-person or third-person shooter as it allows the player to dodge incoming fire while keeping their view aimed at their target.
Strafing is the MOST important thing in bunny hopping!
What strafing alows you is to gain speed while in mid air. Strafing is done by pressing the directional key mid air (A,D) with synced movment of your mouse ( Pressing A you need to move your mouse to the left, D moving your mouse to right). DO NOT HOLD W AS IT WILL CAUSE YOU TO LOSE SPEED. When starting I would suggest to increase the sv_airaccelerate to atleast 15 or even 20 ( If you want to bhop on comepetive ). Best thing you can do is only to practice, a lot. You will fail a lot of jumps and ehat you need to do is just stop for a second and not to try bhoping if your speed goes under 200. Run for 2 seconds and try again.
Key binds are somewhat important and make your jumps easier!!!
Binds I use are these :

bind mwheelup +jump
bind mwheeldown +jump
bind z +left

Mouse wheel will make it easier to time your jumps as you can get up to 5 keypresses in a second.

+left or +right bind is used to gain some speed before jumping off. When you hold "Z" you will constantly spin to left/right and adding a directional key depending on rotation direction will make you go in circles. Adding a jump to it and you constanly have 1 strafe bhop. You can gain up to 400 speed in matter of seconds with this.
Most known styles of bhopping!!!
There are 3 styles that are mose common :
  • Weaving Weaving is when you mouse your mouse 80 degrees before each jump. This is the most common tehnique.

  • Flicking Flicking is moving your mouse to one side more than the other. You move to left for 80 degrees and just "flick" to right really fast and back to left etc. This is what I use to bhop in competetive.

  • Wiggling Wiggling is constanly moving left and right really fast and for this you really need to sync your strafes with mouse movement. This is the hardest of three.
Accelerated Backwards Hopping!!!
In an attempt to patch bunny hopping in Valve's Source Engine, Valve added negative speed when you were moving forward. However, another glitch was discovered some time later called Accelerated Backwards Hopping, or ABH for short.By tricking the game into thinking that you're going forwards, you can add backwards speed and go very fast backwards.

This can be used to move up to 6 times faster than bunnyhopping.

Yeahh, ABH is only faster in other Source games. In CS:GO they didn't add that negative speed, so ABHing is just the same thing as bhopping, but backwards. I do find that it is easier for me to keep speed while ABHing, but I would not recommend ABHing in a comp game because you can't see where you are going and it isn't faster. It is extremely good in Half-Life 2 and Portal though.

care to explain the ABH? I personally have noted while smurfing that backwards and/or sideways seem to have an easier time keeping speed. it seems that this mainly works for other source games, not csgo
