Introduction
VERY IMPORTANT NOTE!!
This guide is based on the original publications of the skill tree revamp. When the beta was released, Overkill changed a handful of the skills around, such as flipping endurance and cable guy, switching the increased armour absorption (previously on bulletproof) to iron man basic and completely changing certain skills such as transporter aced. Just take this into consideration when reading this guide.
Despite this, my choice of skills for each build base remains unchanged. I will update this guide when I have time but I am currently occupied with college as my coursework deadline is approaching. I will do a complete remake of this guide once i've got the time.

What is the purpose of this guide?

This guide is designed to help you plan and create builds for the upcoming skill tree revamp. All the builds displayed here are bases, meaning that they all have extra points for you to spend on your personal choice of skils

What did you take into consideration for each base?

I thought about the different common builds we already have and are recognised within the community and recreated them to the most basic of forms. Each base build contains skills that I would personally consider "essential" for that type of build.

Do you consider any skills universal?

All of these builds have the following skills:

  • Cable guy aced
  • Endurance basic
  • Oppressor aced
  • Transporter aced
  • Duck and cover aced
  • Evasion basic

These skills are all skills that I consider completely essential for any build or are required to get another essential skill.

SIDE NOTE:
Ignore where it says "Skill points left: X" in each screenshot. This value may be incorrect as I may have used the same screenshot on multiple builds or might have edited the build during writing. I will say how many skill points are left over at the end of each section.

ANOTHER SIDE NOTE:
All these builds can be done non infamy, you'll just have less points remaining at the end.
Matrix Man
This is designed as your typical dodge build. It comes with the usual dodge build skills that you would have right now. Shouldn't be a surprise to any dodge fan.

Mastermind
  • Combat Medic aced - Any crew member you revive get additional bonuses. Bought solely cause necessary to obtain higher skills
  • Quick fix aced - Deploy medicals quicker and any teammate who uses them takes less damage for a short time.
  • Combat Doctor/Uppers aced - Pick your poison here, both are fine choices. Combat doctor gives you 2 doctor bags with 4 uses while uppers gives you 14 first aid kits and give an automatic heal effect worth 70% health when near to a teammate who takes a fatal hit.
  • Inspire aced - 75% chance to revive people almost instantly at a distance. A beloved skill by many, not hard to see why.
  • Cable Guy aced - Extra cable ties and faste cable tying. Very useful skill
  • Endurance aced - Increased stamina, increased civilian intimidation from noise and the ability to reload while sprinting. Very handy for quick maneuvering and for reducing down time.

Enforcer
  • Oppressor aced - You can more effectively threaten cops and 75% reduced flashback effect. Brilliant skill all round.
  • Transporter aced - You can throw bags further and carry 2 at once. Extremely handy.

Technician
Nothing to see here...

Ghost
  • Duck and cover aced - Faster sprint, faster stamina regen and increased chances to dodge when sprinting. Makes you super quick and even more dodgy.
  • Evasion aced - More movement speed, able to sprint in any direction and reduced fall damage. Improves manueverability even more than before.
  • Thick skin basic - Increased melee concealment. Bring a bigger melee into the heist with no dodge penalty.
  • Sneaky bastard aced - 1% extra dodge for every point of concealment below 35, capping at 10% extra dodge at 25 concealment or below. A cornerstone for any dodge build.

Fugitive
  • Nine lived aced - extra bleedout is nice and all, but that extra down makes this all the more worth it
  • Up you go - I don't really like either of the tier 2 skills in the Relentless subtree, but I prefer this one over the other. Less damage and extra health after being revived.
  • Swan Song aced - A full 9 seconds of nonstop fire followed by you going down. Really powerful when used correctly.

Skill Points Remaining (Non-infamy): 14
Skill Points Remaining (Infamy 5): 18
Medical Professional
The medical professional is an inspire build designed to help ensure the sustainability of your team. Large amount of skill points remaining with this one.

  • Transporter aced - You can throw bags further and carry 2 at once. Extremely handy.

Ghost
  • Duck and cover aced - Faster sprint, faster stamina regen and increased chances to dodge when sprinting. Makes you super quick and adds some dodge ability.
  • Evasion basic - More movement speed. What's not to love?

    Fugitive
    Nothing to see here...

    Skill Points Remaining (Non-infamy): 46
Skill Points Remaining (Infamy 5): 50
The Bulldozer
The bulldozer is a walking tank, capable of sustaining large amounts of damage. This build is centered around brute force combat (as the name might imply) and relies on large amounts of armour and ammo.

Mastermind
  • Cable Guy aced - Extra cable ties and faste cable tying. Very useful skill
  • Endurance aced - Increased stamina, increased civilian intimidation from noise and the ability to reload while sprinting. Very handy for quick maneuvering and for reducing down time.

Enforcer
  • Oppressor aced - You can more effectively threaten cops and 75% reduced flashback effect. Brilliant skill all round.
  • Transporter aced - You can throw bags further and carry 2 at once. Extremely handy.
  • Bulletproof aced - Increased armour recovery rate and additional armour. More Tankiness = more survivability
  • Iron man aced - Chance to knock back shields with your attacks and the ability to don the Improved Combined Tactical Vest (ICTV). The ICTV is a staple of any tank build and the added shield knockback is nice too.
  • Stable shot aced - Increased ammo pickup range and every 10th enemy you kill drops an additional ammo box. Great for your own sustainability.
  • Bullet Storm aced - Place down an ammo bag and lay out 15 seconds of nonstop fire. Can be devastating and hella cool to use!
  • Ammunition aced - 2 ammo bags with double the ammo. Who doesn't love ammo?
  • Fully Loaded aced - In addition to being able to carry more ammo, you have increased ammo pickup off the ground and even a chance to retrieve an extra throwable with the more ammo boxes you pickup. Very useful for prolonged firefights.

Ghost
  • Duck and cover aced - Faster sprint, faster stamina regen and increased chances to dodge when sprinting. Makes you super quick and adds some dodge ability.
  • Evasion basic - More movement speed. What's not to love?

    Skill Points Remaining (Non-infamy): 28
Skill Points Remaining (Infamy 5): 32
(Not-so-base) Objective Man
This build is somewhat designed as a addon to the bulldozer base build above. This build still has the tankiness of the bulldozer but comes with saw and drill skills. Less of a base build and more of an actual build. Still some points left over though.

  • Portable Saw aced - Allows you to equip the saw in your secondary slot and gives you an extra saw blade. How nice!
  • Carbon Blade aced - Increased saw efficiency on both sawable objects and enemies, as well as the ability to saw straight through a shield for a easy kill. Aced is not entirely necessary but it provides a quick, easy way to kill shields in a tight situation.

Technician
  • Hardware Expert aced - Faster drill/saw fixing speed, silent drilling, sensor mode on trip mines and a 10% chance for your drill to auto restart when it breaks. Really good skill all round.
  • Drill Sargeant aced - Drill/saw efficiency increased by 30%. Super super useful.
  • Kick Starter aced - an additional 20% chance for an auto restart and a 50% chance to restart a drill with a melee attack. Sort of a pseudo-inspire for drills. Really cool ability that I think is worth having.

Ghost
  • Duck and cover aced - Faster sprint, faster stamina regen and increased chances to dodge when sprinting. Makes you super quick and adds some dodge ability.
  • Evasion basic - More movement speed. What's not to love?

    Fugitive
    Nothing to see here...

    Skill Points Remaining (Non-infamy): 2
Skill Points Remaining (Infamy 5): 6
(Not-so-base) The sneaky man
This build is your typical stealth build. Much like with the previous build, there are very few points remaining due to a lot of skills being really useful.

Mastermind
  • Cable Guy aced - Extra cable ties and faste cable tying. Very useful skill
  • Endurance basic - Increased stamina and increased civilian intimidation from noise. Very handy for quick maneuvering during stealth. Aced version I think is kinda pointless for stealth.

Enforcer
  • Oppressor aced - You can more effectively threaten cops and 75% reduced flashback effect. The aced skill is pointless if you're stealthing, but getting it aced is necessary for transporter so yeah.
  • Transporter aced - You can throw bags further and carry 2 at once. Extremely handy.

Technician
  • Hardware Expert aced - Faster drill/saw fixing speed, silent drilling, sensor mode on trip mines and a 10% chance for your drill to auto restart when it breaks. The sensor mode could be useful on stealth, though this build doesn't have skills that give you more trip mines.

Ghost
  • All of Covert Ops - Yep. Seriously. Just get all of it. Every skill in there improves your stealth ability and efficiency.
  • Duck and Cover aced - The extra dodge from the aced is unneccasary, but the increased stamina and sprint speed are very useful indeed.
  • Evasion aced - Additional movement, sprinting in all directions and reduced fall damage. The increased manueverability is nice and the reduce fall damage can potentially help you escape a sticky situation.
  • Thick Skin basic - Extra melee concealment = more concealment overall. You could ace this but I chose not to as I assume you'd be using the suit while stealthing.
  • Camouflage - This is for the sole reason of getting the tier 2 perk above it. Otherwise, useless in stealth.
  • Optic Illusions - This skill increased your concealment based on how many silenced weapons you have and you suffer less of a concealment hit from the larger surpressors. Both useful skills, though possibly not entirely necessary.

Fugitive

Closing words
Hope this helps you with creating your own builds with the new skill tree revamp!

Yes, I did copy and paste quite a bit of the text throughout the guide. I would've been repeating what I had said about that particular skill earlier anyway.

Sorry, I can't figure out why the fugitive screenshot is slightly smaller in certain sections.

Big thanks to Meme Goddess for making the tool that allowed me to create these builds and take the screenshots! - http://gtm.steamproxy.vip/app/218620/discussions/8/368542585863054022/

Thanks to OVERKILL for making the skill tree revamp in the first place.

You should put up guns and perkdeck good for the Skills.

@Breeki man If you want to try the revamp, right-click on PAYDAY 2, select properties, select betas and then select the open beta from the drop-down list upon which PAYDAY 2 will update to the beta build.

If what you want is the software I used, a link to the forum post where you can find it can be found in the 'closing words' section. However, If you want to create builds, I'd recommend using http://payday.drakendomain.net/ as it's easier and is updated to the skills found in the latest beta build.

how can i get this skill three thingy?
Redarrix  [author] 2 May, 2016 @ 12:48pm
@Shotgun Surgeon in the original publication of the Enforcer skill tree revamp (https://i.imgsafe.org/42b27d6.jpg) , Overkill Studios said that Transporter aced would allow you to carry two bags at once. They then changed this to the new version of transporter aced which reduces your movement penalty for bags depending on your armour.

@Stealth as it stands, this guide is somewhat outdated. Overkill randomly changed a selection of the skills for the beta and I haven't modified this since the release of the beta.

Wait what do you mean you can have 2 bags at once? Nothing in that skill "transporter" says you get to carry two bags at once. Frankly I stopped reading at this point since it clearly makes this guide either dated or horribly incorrect.

@Majes Most updates for Payday 2 happen roughly around 6PM GMT +1, which is in about 2 hours. I assume they'll do a beta first though before this revamp is officially released though.
replingham153 28 Apr, 2016 @ 5:50am
In about 12 hours. I say this because my time zone means a Thursday update is something I encounter when I get up on Friday morning. But I'd say maybe 4-5 hours away if you're at your computer.
Majes 28 Apr, 2016 @ 4:13am
Ok, so someone know when these skills will be introduced?
