Updated Excavator information. (only had the controls for the bucket and I hadn't actually tried to use it when I added it).

The one tool you start with
Uses ----->Cut trees for Wood, sticks, resin to harvest ORE for Stone, Iron Ore, etc....
Can kill aliens. but slow. ok during day but not at night. Aliens move too quickly at night

Use --------> Light the darkness

Use ----> Kill Aliens. takes about 2-3 shots to kill them
(don't forget to make ammo)
(if out at night the aliens are very fast and will kill you quickly)

Use -------> Allows you to pick up items, such as workbench or other items placed. Very useful. Requires (metal) workbench to make.


Use -----> Removes grass from building area. (grass can poke through building foundation, must be done before placing building blocks)





Removes placed building blocks, returns them to inventory.


I haven't noticed an increase in wood or resin from cutting down trees in current release

I haven't noticed an Increase in Ore or stone from Mining in current release

Must be full night before it can be activated.

Use Workbench to make bottles:

Place in tool bar and go to water source. With bottle slot active you will see prompt to collect water.

--------------------DO NOT DRINK THIS WATER! -------------------
you will see dirty water bottle in inventory.

Drinking Dirty water will cause you to lose health.


To make make good water:

Build a fire pit and placing water in fire pit. (2 dirty water bottles will make 1 bottle water using this method),
or
Distiller. (1) dirty water bottle makes (1) water Bottle and is faster than fire pIt.
or
Chemistry lab same as distiller but much faster.


Find fruit trees.
Orange, lemon, banana trees.
You can turn some into seeds and plant around your base.

I've also seen Pumpkins- Haven't tried to plant them but I would think you would need a garden planter or greenhouse. (Greenhouse is not working yet)


Find a cotton plant and pick wool...... you also get a seed with it to plant another plant.

Currently I only see getting this from mining Ore.
Ore extractor will give Sand as well as uranium which currently I don't have a use for.

To make steel Plate you need to Crush Iron Ore and Coal

Press C to enter crafting menu (scroll till you see Steel Powder) combine to make steel powder

Place steel Powder in Furnace
Produces Steel ingot.

Complex
(produces more)
Run Iron Powder and Coal Powder through Centrifyge
Produces Iron Powder Refined and Coal Powder Refined (and other Byproducts)
Press C and enter crafting menu to combine to make steel powder

Use Furnace and make steel Ingot.

Use Anvil or Pressing to make Steel Plate.



Need crusher, centrifuge, furnace and presser.
Crush Iron Ore or Copper Ore in crusher then place iron/copper powder in centrifuge. This will produce Gold and Silver powder that can be placed in furnace to make gold/silver ingots then placed in presser to make gold/silver plates.



Crush Copper Ore in Crusher -----> place copper powder in Centrifuge ------> lead powder refined in Furnace -------> Lead Ingot in Presser --------> lead plate


You need to build an Industrial Electrolyser, industrial Furnace and Industrial Presser.

Place the powder of Titanium Dioxide (obtained after sending Powder Iron ore threw Centrifyge) in the industrial Electrolyser to make Titan Powder Refined. Place the Titan Powder refined in the Industrial Furnace to make Titan Ingots, then in Industrial presser to make Titan Plates.

Will be used to can food. atleast what I seen on a thread. Again it is not active yet.

Power is necessary to run the higher end crafting machines.

I didn't have a guide and figured it out on my own so this is what I found out.

You can build a Geothermal Generator then place a Distributor of energy next to it. Then it will transmit power to another distributor of energy across the island. (haven't checked if there is a distance limit on it.)

For power you need at least a Generator and a Distributor of energy.

Generators:


Runs on Coal
Produces 5.0 energy


Runs on..... wait for it..... Wind
You can use a wrench to pick it up and using your number pad on you keyboard with the numberlock off change it's position to find the best wind, power generation level depends on wind. I've gotten as far as 9.2.


Uses the sun
Produces 1.0 during the day. Small and can be placed on side of your base.


Must be placed on Ore Vien
Produces 100.0

When placing these you will notice a Dome apear the item you need powered has to be within it.

I recommend using accumlator battery as well.


The Ore Extractor requires power and needs a Distributor of power within range.

Base Building in this game is easy.

Here's the first base I made. Blocks are made by getting the materials and useing the workbench to make the blocks. See crusher and centrifyge section for how to get concrete mix.






I haven't used all the options available as I was just looking to make something simple at first.
As I explore the game more myself I'll post a little more.

To build Vehicles you need to build a "Factory Transport" for Cars and a "Factory Air Transport" for ships.

an Auto-Workbench is HIGHLY recommended for the higher end crafting as this takes lots of electronics and parts.
For all vehicles Basic controls are
W - Forward
S - Back
A - Turn Left
D - Turn Right
Space - Brake

L- Lights


Once the car is built, it doesn't automatically spit it out. You need to open the door and take it out. The door is on the end without the big conduits/cable looking things. You will see a prompt to open door. If you don't you will get an error when trying to build another car, "workspace not empty"

ATV
Fast hard to steer but lots of fun. Press F to enter, Press L for lights at night.

Backspace to change to excavator mode. You will see Red Text showing that you are in excavating Mode. Move your mouse and you will see a red cross hair and point towards ground and you will see a green box. This will allow you to level the ground in that location. you can mess around with it and you can figure it out.

Normal Controls, Gun Turret targets with mouse.


To fly press and hold left shift key to raise. May take a second before it starts to go up.

Need crusher, centrifuge, furnace and presser.
Crush Iron Ore or Copper Ore in crusher then place iron/copper powder in centrifuge. This will produce silver powder that can be placed in furnace to make silver ingots then placed in presser to make silver plates.

For Low Quailty Silicon Wafer, simply mine for Silicon Ore and place in Furnace ---> "silicon wafer low quality" (note: furnace must be melting Furnace or above)

For Silicon Wafer there are two ways.
First
If you have excess low quality wafer:
Step 1 crush the Low Quality Silicon Wafer in the Crusher Produces Silicon Powder Refined.
Step 2 put Silicon Powder Refined in Presser. Produces Silicon Wafer.
Second option
Crush silicon in crusher----> yields (2) crushed stone.
Place crushed stone in centrifuge and get refined silicon as a byproduct
Put that in presser and you get silicon wafer

Note: If you put silicon powder refined in furnace you will get glass.
