Weapons - usage

In this guide I will describe some effective ways of using the standart weapons in Holodrive.

IMPORTANT!
According to the update from 02.05.16 there were some changes to weapons' balance. The changes:

Basic Weapon:

Damage increased from 9 to 10

Plasma Gun:

Initial Damage reduced from 10 to 5
Max Heat damage increased from 1.5x to 2.4x
Heat Decay time decreased from 1.5s to 1s

Shotgun:

Damage reduced from 15 to 10 per bullet
Fire Rate increased from 1.5 to 1.65

Grenade Launcher:

Damage Reduced from 50 to 40
Fire Rate increased from 1.1 to 1.3
Bomb timer reduced from 3s to 2s

Raygun:

Damage reduced from 8 to 7
Fire Rate reduced from 18 to 14
Range reduced from 52 to 48

Bazooka:

Bullet Speed reduced from 85 to 70
Explosion self-damage increased from 35% to 80% (Now you will take more damage from your own bullet)
Plasma gun
CATEGORY: Fast fire weapons
DAMAGE: 6 - 15 (the more you shoot, the more damage it does)
AMMO CAPACITY: 60 in one charge (2 charges allowed)

This weapon is good for attack and defence. However, be sure that you have charged your weapon twice to heat the weapon because if you dont heat it, it will cause less damage. It's safer to attack aggressively with it - it will be harder for the enemy to hit you, because you are moving fast. Always think where the enemy is because this weapon is not scattergun or flamethrower - if you miss you have missed. Use this weapon only if you think your attack will be successful. Otherwise, you will have to fight with player who has aimed to you so you will have to act quickly.
Shotgun
CATEGORY: Multishot weapons
DAMAGE: 10 per bullet (shots 6 bullets)
AMMO CAPACITY: 12 per charge (2 charges allowed)
SPECIAL FEATURES: Bullets bounce

This weapon is perfect for sudden attacks. If you are lucky and all 6 bullets hit your enemy you will kill him. However, the bullet can't go far away, so you must have advanced aiming skills if you want to kill your enemies with 1-2 shots. Everybody just need practise to get controll on the weapon. DO NOT CHASE PLAYER WITH SHOTGUN! YOU WON'T HIT HIM! One sudden precise hit will finish your enemies. You can use and the bullet bouncing as bonus. If you have suspected player who is hiding in tunnel, you can get close to him without allowing him to aim, shoot in the tunnel and if you see that there is player, attack him aggressivly and he is yours.
Granate launcher
CATEGORY: Launcher weapons
DAMAGE: 40 per granate (25 - 0 if it explodes near you)
AMMO CAPACITY: 8 per charge (2 charges allowed)
SPECIAL FEATURES: Granates bounce

This is one good weapon for far attacks. You can aim to your enemies without seeing them. But is that possible? Of course, just watch your red arrows, which are showing near enemy. If you can shoot where the arrows shows, you are actually shooting to enemy!




Also if you have x2 power-up and granate weapon, it's recommended to active the power-up and shooting with the granate ( because 50x2=100; players' health is 100). In other words - granate+x2+precisious hit=1 hit kills. Simple :D ! Also is a good idea to use this weapon while UBER WEAPON is acitvated. There will be shower of granates and everybody will drown in granates. The interactive walls (these which change their colours) you can shoot trough them when they are red (the pass bullets, but not and bots). This you can use in SKWARE. I have done triple kill using this so why don't and you try it out.
Raygun
CATEGORY: Continuous weapons
DAMAGE: 7 per hit (2-3 sec. are enough to do 100 damage)
AMMO CAPACITY: 5 per charge (2 charges allowed)
SPECIAL FEATURES: ray reflects on surface

Everybody use it, everybody love it. This is raygun. This weapon is the most used because:
- The ray is very long so you can reach enemies on the edge of your screen.
- The ray reflects, so you can hit enemies who have hidden somewhere, where you can't reach with straght-shooting weapons.
- It gets health realy fast (see in DAMAGE)
- UBER WEAPON and x2 are making this weapon abnormal.

However, there are and some cons:
- You can be seen while invisible.
- If there are 5-8 players in game it will be impossible to find raygun.

Bazooka
CATEGORY: Explosive weapons
DAMAGE: 100 per hit (the closer you hit, the more damage it does(and to you))
AMMO CAPACITY: 2 per charge (2 charges allowed)
SPECIAL FEATURES: N/A

The veteran Toy has said BOICHE - THE BAZOOKA. Here i can write endlessly. This weapon is perfect for everything - for sudden attacks, for far attacks (once I killed a player from the one end of the map to the other)! Remember, if you want to be unreachable with bazooka, don't stop moving! It will be harder for the enemies to aim you. You can use the red arrows to help you finding where is the enemy. This video shows how to use the arrows as helping hand. Unfortunatelly, I haven't video with the standart bazooka, but this is the method of using them.
If you have invisible power-up it will be perfect if you have and bazooka. You willhave just to hit the enemy - he won't see you so he won't attack you. Of course, some advanced players could see you, but if you are moving the chance to hit you is less than 10% :D . Remember. KEEP MOVING!
Sniper
CATEGORY: Precision weapons
DAMAGE: 100 per hit (if its charged)
AMMO CAPACITY: 5 per charge (2 charges allowed)
SPECIAL FEATURES: 1 hit kills
you appear on the radar, you are slowed, has to charge, using jetpack loses the charge

Sniper is weapon which needs skills. The aiming, the moving with it (because it slows you down and if you use jetpack you will have to recharge it). However, everybody with sniper is dangerous. Only one precisious shoot is enough to kill you. The sniper is the only one weapon, which can be used without moving. You just need to hie somewhere or to stay somewhere, where somebody will appear and will be surprised with one sniper in the head (the exit portals - VERT, SKWARE). WIth x2 power-up the sniper becomes dematerializer. Without charging you can kill enemy - without chargin the sniper does 45 damage - x2 -> 90. Best places (which I use):
- 2 BASE: The middle tunnel.
- SKWARE: The left tunnel in the end of the map.
- BIG RIGS: The tunnel behind the vault.
- VERT: Everywhere, where i can reach the exit portal.
- FLOOROPHOBIC: The two small tunnels.
- JIPE: The tunnel, which is under the place where you can pick up sniper.
- JIPE The platform from the right where you can pick up sniper.
Only on 2 places I'm not in tunnels. So the best place for sniperist is the tunnel. With more practise you will can move as I do and shoot from almost everywhere.
