Balrum Walkthrough

I love this game but I found it easy to get lost in the process so here is a simple walkthrough to help you get from A-B without stumbling too far off the main story

Getting Started
Ok, so you're about to embark on the journey that is Balrum - Good for you! Before you read too far into this walkthrough please note that there will be spoilers and there will be subjective game options so naturally your experience will be slightly different and there are MANY options that you can follow. I will focus on the main story line and try to provide a step-by-step that makes sense and is easy to follow.

Here we go!

Getting Started:

The second screen you see is your character creation screen. This screen allows you do develop the desired attributes of your character but you will be able to chop and choose as you play the game.

Note: It is better to stick to your chosen areas as you are given 6 LP (Learning Points) per level and the levels are quite hard to reach so spreading them over a large number of skills will limit your progression in certain feilds.

As you can see, the main areas that I have chosen were:

Archery - Increasing your ability to use a bow.
Mining/Smelting - Helps to produce refined products from raw ore (Gold bars, Steel bars, Iron Bars etc.)
Farming - Allows you to grow more specialised crops (This comes in handy when making potions as you will need quite a few healing plants later on).
Carpentry - This allows you to build better storage, furnature and so forth.

Additional areas that you may choose are:

Swordplay - Fight better with hand held weapons.
Archane Arts - Use specialised magic (Fire balls, freeze etc).
Create Weapons - Produce better weapons.
Create Armour - Produce better armour.
Alchemy - Produce potions.
Survival - Cheat death.
Cooking - Produce foods with benefits to your character.
Trapping - Produce traps.
Pick Locks - well.. if I have to explain this one...
Hunting - Learn skills from the hunter and learn to tame animals to fight along side you.

Several other areas that I would recommend would be - Create weapons and armour, pick locks & cooking but you can choose which ever suits you.

Great! Now you are ready to start playing. Next section coming soon.

How this has 3 stars, I'll never understand. Most of everything mentioned is already covered in the game, just a matter of hovering over the skills to see the descriptions. And I'd like to note that carpentry is added by default to your character for building in the safe zone. You can't really decide not to have it.

@Malcom13 According to this guide I believe you fill a bowl with warm new game and mix with some motor oil and a bit of viagra for rising, add that Power Flour till well mixed. Slap that concoction down on the cutting board with just a dash of No Stick Sand and kneed with Alt+F4 until mostly firm.
