Apply Bounce Gel to a white surface, and you can still shoot a portal onto it. But apply Conversion Gel to a black surface and then put Bounce Gel on top of that? No portals allowed. It doesn't make sense, but it's the crux of this puzzle.

As promised, this is the second in my series of ... TWO Conversion Gel puzzles. Aesthetics are inspired by Portal Stories: Mel. This map has sort of turned into my Hammer sandbox. There might be some performance issues, however, since this is just one large open area. I'm not sure how I could fix this other than designing a better layout from the beginning.

The idea for this looked great on paper, but expectedly I ran into a lot of problems. I had to cheat in a couple of places in order for this to work and almost lost interest. For example, you are not supposed to fly into the portal on the central platform. I used a finely tuned trigger_catapult just to suppress air control. Without the catapult you would still land on the same spot, slightly behind the portal. But the game could funnel you into the portal. And even if you entered the portal at a 45° angle, you'd still exit it at 90° without losing height. As I said, this game doesn't make any sense![i.imgur.com]

tl;dr Don't use Conversion Gel!
