Wondering how to actually do it on Windows?

If so, change your 'High Dynamic Range' setting in advanced video options from 'Full' to 'Bloom' or 'Off'. That should solve this issue.

Window users may also type: mat_specular 0
In Console

Mac Users:

Wondering how to do it on Mac?

To do this you must go into console by pressing the key on the left of 1, then type in console:

mat_specular 0

OR

mat_hdr_level "0"
