Description

A Song of Ice and Fire :3 this zone has two tracks depending on which element you are playing and that can throw you off badly. Specially the ice song as it's drums are not as strong as the metal one.

The ice, god the ice, is the most annoying thing when you play to keep your multiplier up, as whenever you slide on ice you may not select a movement, (or you lose the multiplier), UNLESS, you are frozen by the ice dragon, in which case you don't slide, (although you don't move) and have to select a movement in order not to lose the multiplier. Then we add the special items, like the ring of courage, and while killing an ice monster you will slide into it's ice, and as you might guess, can get bad real easy, because if the monster was alone, you have to stop pressing buttons, but if a monster was close and moves into the path, you will stop sliding that very same beat and actually had to press a direction to not miss the multiplier. All in all I suggest you avoid that ring on this zone unless you don't care about missing a beat of course.

Then you grab the lead boots so that ice is not a problem, and then FORGET you had the lead boots, and you lose the multiplier with even more ease anyway.

Fire is less troublesome, if you stay on it for two beats you get burned (hit), so all you have to do is keep moving. It becomes troublesome when you have long range weapons, as you can inadvertently stay in your tile because a monster was on the edge of your range and moves towards you as you try to escape the fire. The solution to that is to just play safe and only enter fire when you know no monster is around. The explorer boots (water boots) prevent fire, and IO prefer them to the lead boots, because if you forget you had them, you wont lose the multiplier, you will just play safe.

On the first map I missed a diamond I had on my face, I was looking elsewhere and didn't notice the shine :( The game starts to get harder now, with fast tunes on the second and faster on the third level (and the possibility of a million monsters rushing you from the first beat, had one with ghost after ghost, ugh), I had to play with both hands because one or the other would get tired on the previous level, and started missing key presses, otoh ambidexterity yay!

As per the rules I go for all diamonds, all monsters killed (or as possible given track length), dagger only for the first miniboss, must kill with dagger throw :P, dont lose multiplier which means no hits among others and whatever else I forgot.

I also wanted a new boss, but got a repeat boss sadly... Although it is upgraded: The red pieces take two hits instead of one like on zone 1 (doesn't help when you got a glass weapon though). I kept the run because it wasn't easy to get :P, I got to kill a dragon with dagger throw while a boss bat was going around, and because that ending with the shield, PERFECT. I think I'll do a boss rush, that will get to show off the bosses and get me to practice them.
