Amsterdam Rijksmuseum

Kuvaus
The famous Amsterdam Rijksmuseum as a level 4 unique building. Add some culture to your city with this museum filled with paintings from the dutch masters! There is a fully functional pedestrian underpass through the middle of the building. 15x9 plot size. Make sure to look at the building up close!

This building was designed by architect Pierre Cuypers and first opened its doors in 1885. Glass panels in the roof to allow the artwork to be seen in natural light. The two covered courtyards add even more glass surface to the roof of this building. The building is richly dectorated with stone reliefs and murals depicting various scenes from dutch art history.

I lobbed off the library, the whole south wing and compromised on some windows but otherwise tried to stick as close to the real thing as possible.

Tech details:
9110 triangles and 2048x2048 texture.
The lod has 453 triangles and 256x256 texture.

My best discovery in making this building was xNormal photoshop plugin which made iterating on the heightmap much more convenient.

Enjoy,
Kai
