Patrol When Revealed

WotC fixed the defect that this mod patches. I'm leaving this here for non-WotC players.

This mod is fixes a defect with how AI patrols: pods will stop patrolling when the player sees the pod while still in concealment (i.e.: the pod is revealed but not activated.) Instead of following their patrols, they will just remain where they are. With this mod, pods will patrol in their normal patrol routes as long as they're not activated.

This defect leads to two common scenarios:

1. If you're in cover and any movement would break concealment, you cannot wait them out.
2. Other pods that are not revealed may patrol in your visible area and stop, leading to activating multiple pods at once when concealment breaks.

This mod does not change how 'up-throttling' and 'down-throttling' work. The default behavior for up-throttling is: after 2 turns without engaging any enemies once squad concealment is broken, the closest pod will travel to the mid-point between you and your objective. This might mean that the pod stops patrolling at mid-point. The default behavior for down-throttling is: when you engage 4 or more enemies, all enemy pods within 50 meters will move away from the squad.

This mod changes the following classes:

* XGAIPlayer

Any mods that change that file will not be compatible with this mod.

This mod is compatible with Patch 2.

Well the mod didnt help, as soon as I saw the Viper King he followed me for 2 turns off the patrol path and directly to the corner my reaper was hiding in.

Gonna try using this mod as the Viper King still follows my reapers around when revealed. Dam snakes.

It appears that Firaxis added patrol movement, but it certainly isn't like this mod. They magically walk toward your hidden troops. I've literally led a conga line of 20 enemies around the map following a shadowed reaper.

"Vanilla" WotC now has this mod's functionality integrated into its new mechanics. However, the Devs' version seems to be wonky at best, as the discovered pods sometimes return to their patrols and sometimes stay put.

I've got this enabled in WotC and have had no issues. Whether it does the same job in the expansion, or if Firaxis just added it to the actual game, I don't know, but it works either way.
