Introduction

Hey there! This is a guide for all romance routes in Queen at Arms. You have a war to win? Who cares - there are a bunch of troubled hotties around!

These are the steps I've taken to complete all romances. I've tried to sort away unnecessary choices, while also keeping as much screentime as possible for the chosen character. Some choices might not be crucial, but most of them are. And remember, most of this guide contains spoilers!

It might be good to note that in Chapter Four, if you choose to join the queen's side and then choose to visit Alastor in the dungeon, you will miss a good chunk of the most romances. I have no idea why. On some routes this happens even if you don't visit him, so I think it's simply an issue with the queen's side. Play around a little if you want to make sure you don't miss anything!
Bells and Whistles
Romance Mechanist James.
Note: This one is pretty much directly copied from the QaA tumblr[queenatarms.tumblr.com], because I got lazy. Sorry.

Chapter One
  • Follow him to his tent when he asks.
  • Be sure to look at the schematics.
  • Play cards with him at the tavern.
Chapter Two
  • Hang out with him at the masquerade.
  • Go see what’s up with James while you’re marching out.
  • Comfort him after his fight with Rubus.
Chapter Three
  • Talk to him at camp when you’re establishing yourself as the Commander.
  • Chat with him when you can’t remember when the last time you had a casual chat was.
  • Tell him that you’d love to go out with him when everything is over.
  • Go hang out with him and Nick.
  • Talk to him when questioning the fate of your soul.
Addition by nishune: ''...in chapter 3 when you're alone with him in the tent, he'll find out you're a girl and tell you he's not interested in girls (he's into boys). If you tell him you're a man, he'll pursue a relationship with you while if you tell him you're a woman he'll just be your friend.''
Charmed
Romance Archmagus Rubus.

Chapter One
  • When Rubus casts a spell on you, choose [Try to humor him.]
  • When in the tavern don't play cards. Instead, choose [Watch-- and perhaps find some less awkward company.]
  • then [Investigate the conversation about magic.]
  • then [I'm interested.]
Chapter Two
  • After the funeral rites, choose [Follow Prelate.]
  • At the ball, choose [Go with the Archmagus and Prelate.]
  • then [Follow Archmagus.]
  • then [Yes]
  • When riding an James and Rubus are fighting, choose [Intervene.]
  • When having some downtime in camp, choose [Study magic with Rubus the Archmagus.]
  • When Rubus mentions Adamus, choose [You were an apprentice once?]
  • When riding out, and James and Rubus are fighting again, choose [Intervene between Rubus and James.]
  • then [Get between them.]
Chapter Three
  • When at camp, choose [Talk to the Archmagus.]
  • When at camp again later, choose [See what's up with the Archmagus and the Prelate.]
  • When riding, choose [Intervene in the conflict between friends.]
  • then [Try and get information our of Rubus.]
  • then [Agree to speak to Lucius.]
  • When deciding whom to seek the advice of, choose [Rubus]
  • then [Insist.]
  • then [Yes.] (Alternatively [We shouldn't.] and then [Go see Rubus.]
  • then [Stay with him.]
  • At this point I believe the romance is locked in so your choice doesn't matter, but [Keep going] equals sexytime while [Leave things where they are.] equals fluffy fluff. (Personally I really liked the latter.)
Foxy
Romance Spymaster Fox.

Chapter One
  • When going to the Castle with Berin, choose [Try and figure him out.] (obviously? ahem)
  • When going to bed, do NOT choose [Try to start a conversation with some of the boys.] Either of the two other choices are fine.
  • then [Check out the noise.]
  • then [Yes. May as well indulge him.]
Chapter Two
  • When the choice is between waiting for nick or seeing what Alastor is doing, choose [Don't risk it. Just wait for Nick.]
  • then [Ask him what's going on in the tent.]
  • then [Stop him.]
  • then [Tell him it's fine.]
  • When having downtime in camp and your thoughts are interrupted by a scream and a cleric rushes past, choose
  • then [Question the soldiers.]
Chapter Three
  • When confronting Horatio (the soldier causing an uproar), engage with him until you get the choice whether or not to kill him. Choose either of those. (Thanks to Mukuro for pointing this out)
  • During the next camp downtime choose [Question the Fox]
  • then [I'm thankful he helped.]
  • When riding out again, choose [Have a chat with the Fox.]
  • When choosing whom to seek out for advice, choose (drumroll please...) [The Fox]
  • then
  • When Fox asks you to tell him what you want (from him), choose [I'm not sure.]
  • At this point, the epilogue cutscene is guaranteed but as far as I understand, romance is not yet locked in. Thus I'd recommend you choose [Let him.], [Yes.], and [Continue.] I believe the other choices are not relevant.
Fraternizing with the Enemy
Romance Knight Lorimette.

Chapter One
  • When James wants you to come with him to see his 'something amazing', instead choose [Look for the knight.]
  • then [Stick to your guns.]
  • When given the option to tell her your name, choose [Yes.]
  • then choose [No, I didn't want to.] OR [Yes, I did.] followed by [For my brother.]
  • When in the tavern, choose [Watch-- and perhaps find some less awkward company.]
  • then [Go bother the knight.]
  • then [Stay and chat.]
Chapter Two
  • When waiting for Nick and Alastor sneaks into a tent, choose [Go see what Alastor's doing.]
  • When Sylgardian soldiers are chasing a mechanist, choose [Ride after them and capture the mechanist.]
  • then [Turn over mechanist to Lorimette.]
Chapter Three
  • When riding out, choose [Stay and chat with Lorimette.]
  • If you get to choose whom you want to see, choose [Lorimette.]
  • When considering if you're in love with Lorimette, choose [Maybe it isn't.]
  • Make sure to choose the Queen's side over Alastor's, of course. Unless you want Lorimette to hate you. FOREVER.
Chapter Four
  • While it doesn't seem to technically matter, when Lorimette is helping you get dressed, I'd recommend you choose [Pursue it.] as some inconsistencies show up later if you don't- the same thing happens if you choose to visit Alastor in the dungeon instead of meeting the Queen, I believe. It won't directly impact your romance, but you'll miss some content.
  • Later, choose [/list]
Holy Roller
Romance Prelate Lucius.

Chapter One
  • When in the tavern don't play cards. Instead, choose [Watch-- and perhaps find some less awkward company.]
  • then [Investigate the conversation about magic.]
  • then [I'm interested.]
Chapter Two
  • After the funeral rites, choose [Follow Prelate.]
  • When the Prelate asks you to escort him, choose [Go with the Prelate.]
  • At the ball, choose [Go with the Archmagus and Prelate.]
  • then [Stay with Prelate.]
  • When riding, and James and Rubus are fighting, choose [Don't be a busybody.]
  • then [Ride by the Prelate.]
  • When having downtime in the camp, do other things until it's evening, then, choose [Cheer up Nick.]
  • then [Stay with Prelate.]
  • When riding, and James and Rubus are fighting AGAIN, choose [See what's up with Lucius.]
Chapter Three
  • When in camp, choose [Talk to the Prelate.]
  • Later when in camp, choose [See what's up with the Archmagus and the Prelate.]
  • When riding out, choose [Intervene in the conflict between friends.]
  • then [See if Lucius will speak to you.]
  • then [Press Further.]
  • When choosing whom to ask for advice, choose [Lucius.]
  • If you get to choose whom you want to see, choose [Lucius.]
  • then [Let him move closer.]
  • then [Just let things happen.]
  • At this point, the romance is locked in, but I'd still recommend choosing [Tell him.]
Royal Consort
Romance Prince Alastor.
Note: This one is pretty much directly copied from the QaA tumblr[queenatarms.tumblr.com], because I got lazy. Sorry.

Chapter One
  • Saving him from wolves is a good start, but you’ll also want to be sure you accept the sword when he offers it to you.
  • At the tavern you should play cards with him.
Chapter Two
  • Hang out with him at the masquerade.
  • Go and see what he’s doing while you wait for your brother.
  • Follow him when he wanders away from the marching troops.
  • Check on him when everyone is camped.
Chapter Three
  • Talk to Alastor while establishing yourself as the Commander.
  • Stay and chat with Lorimette while she’s riding alongside Alastor.
  • Make sure you tell him what he wants to hear and that of course the troops are ready for battle.
  • Do not ask him about his hair.
Side Note: Being friendly with Lorimette is a good idea. She has some insights on what it’s like to be in Alastor’s position and sometimes talking with her will help you in understanding him, which will make his opinion of you that much higher.
Shot Through the Heart
Romance Head Archer Cesca.

Chapter One
  • When going to the Castle with Berin, choose [Ignore him and listen to Berin.]
  • then [Ask the woman what she needs.]
  • I don't think it matters in the long run, but when going to sleep, choose [Find a bed and think about your day.] if you want some extra thoughts on Cesca.
Chapter Two
  • When choosing who to spend the ball with, choose [Go with the Head Archer.]
  • When riding, choose [Go see what Cesca is talking about.]
  • When in camp, choose [Learn more about archery from the Head Archer.]
Chapter Three
  • When in camp, choose [Talk to the Head Archer.]
  • then [Call her out.]
  • When in camp next time, choose [Talk to the Head Archer.]
  • When choosing whom to seek out for advice, choose [Cesca]
  • When choosing if you love her back, choose [Yes.] (for gods sake!) And that's it!
Outroduction..?

Just wanted to add something for James route, in chapter 3 when you're alone with him in the tent, he'll find out your a girl and tell you he's not interested in girls (he's into boys). If you tell him you're a man, he'll pursue a relationship with you while if you tell him you're a woman he'll just be your friend.

@KaiiryAhn: Alright, I've done some experimenting, and I believe Horatio/the soldiers need to respect you enough to listen to you, and the easiest way to do so without changing too many of your choices (I hope), would be this: In Ch1, when choosing to play cards or not, instead go and speak to Rubus and the Prelate, and learn some magic. This will let you save a soldier in the first attack by using fire magic on his wound. In Ch2, after cheering up Nick, instead of checking on the prince, speak with the soldiers to raise their morale. In Ch3, when becoming the Commander, give a speech. This should give you the option to keep talking with Horatio. Let me know if it works!

@KaiiryAhn: Would it be too much trouble to write down the choices you make so I can try them in my own game?
Caaarlaaa 9 Jun, 2016 @ 12:23pm
@[CoRe] Interpreter yes,It is the same problem and I tried to not stand out and eavesdrop the two soldiers but it looks like that is not what I am doing wrong.
