Introduction
Hello all! Welcome to my first guide. Comments and feedback are greatly appreciated.

As the title and description states, today I will be giving you an overview about Grand Theft Auto V Online and will teach you how to be the best GTA V Online Gamer you can be.

Edit - Added section about hackers/cheaters.
Edit - Fixed difficulty reward numbers for heists.
The Map
The map in GTA V is HUGE!!!

Just look at all the possibilities. They have mini marts you can rob. Different gun stores, clothing stores, barber shops, and auto repair/customization shops. No two stores are the same. You can even buy houses! Buy a small house in the outskirts of the city or buy an apartment with lots of garage space.

On this map, you will never run out of things to do. See free roaming for more activities.
Free roaming
One of the things that makes GTA V such a fun game is the ability to go around and do whatever you want with friends or by yourself. I personally recommend playing with friends and talking with them because it is a lot more fun.

If you are ever low on cash and need some fast, drive to your closest mini-mart, whip out your gun and wait till the cashier hands over the money. Then drive away, loose the cops and enjoy :D
Pro-tip: Call your creepy Uncle Lester and pay a small fee ($200 per star) to get the cops off your tail right away.

Have some extra cash you don't know what to do with? Go on a pointless shopping spree at the clothing store, or at the mask shop!

Getting ready for the next big heist? Get your a$$ to Ammu-Nation (with a shooting range), throw down a little cash to test out weapons then stock up.

Need a break from killing everyone in sight? Try taking a relaxing bike ride down by the beach. For the daring, go on the roller coaster down at the beach.

Still suck at flying? Can't land a plane for your life? Friends getting mad at your for crashing and messing up missions? Well now you can sharpen your skills down at the Los Santos International Airport.

When you have done everything, including arm wrestling, drinking till you die, and picking up strippers, you only have one thing left to master... DARTS!!!!!

Missions
There are lots of different missions available in GTA V Online referred in game as "Contract Missions". Missions unlock as you level up your character and will be offered to you on your phone which can be accessed by pressing the "up arrow" on your keyboard.

There are usually 3 difficulties for jobs.
Easy, Normal, and Hard.
Easy: Default payout for the job.
Normal: 1.25x payout for the job.
Hard: 1.5x payout for the job.
You will also receive more rewards by completing missions with friends and crew members.
For successful completing a mission, you will receive Job Points (JP), Reputation Points (RP), and Money ($).

Job Points (JP) are only awarded as a ranking system for the mission. (Click here for more information about JP)[gta.wikia.com]

Reputation Points (RP) are awarded for completing jobs and performing various activities in GTA V Online which are used to rank up.

Money ($) is pretty self explanatory. You can use it to buy weapons, cars, houses, etc...

There are also some side missions you can participate in including races, Deathmatches and skydiving. In these game modes, make sure you place in the top 3 or its not worth your time.

Deathmatch: Have fun defeating your friends and random players in a Free-For-All or in a Team Death Match. Use a Rockstar created mode or one made by a community member.

Races: Choose between land, sea, and air races.

Skydiving: Jump out of a plane and try to land in the marked location as fast as possible.

Heists
Heists involve a series of setup missions the come together for a high profit crime.
To start a heist, you must be contacted by Lester who will call you at at least level 12 and own a high end apartment with a heist room. Lester will then guide you through your first heist. There are 5 Heists including the tutorial one.

After completing the first heist, you unlock the Armored Kuruma. This is a bullet proof car that is VERY useful for heists and regular missions.

I highly recommend completing heists with friends and/or Crew members as you can better communicate what to do in each heist setup as well as have some extra fun.

As with missions, you are rewarded with JP, RP, and $. You have the option of Easy (however in heists only gives you 1/2 of default payout), Normal (1.25x payout), and Hard (1.5x payout)

Extra rewards: If you are looking for more $, think about completing these challenges.
Complete each heist finale for the first time for a $100,000 bonus.
If you complete all heist setups and finales in order, you will receive a $1,000,000 bonus.
Complete all heist setups and finales with the same team for $1,000,000 extra.
Complete each heist setup and finale in first-person mode for a $100,000 bonus. NOTICE: You MUST lock your view during setup.
Criminal Mastermind Challenge: This is the hardest challenge in the game. You must complete all of the heist setups and finales in order, on the hard difficulty, with the same team and without loosing a life. (If you loose a life, you must restart everything) You will receive $10,000,000 for completing this challenge.
Crews
Create a crew with all your friends to take on heists, missions, and other crews. Create a name, an emblem and team up to kick some a$$!!

Playing Online
When playing online, you will run into a few types of people. I will give you some tips to best deal with them to make sure they don't ruin your experience.

Tryhards: These players are usually of the high level with powerful weapons. They get joy by killing everyone they see, sometimes camping a mission start or a way-point on the map. These people WANT you to get mad and rage at them. DON'T let them draw out the worst in you, just connect to a different online session.

Squeakers: These players are usually around 12 years old and have the most horrible voice you have ever heard. (If you have a horrible, high pitched voice and are reading this, please refrain from using the Mic.) You can avoid these people (kids) simply by muting them or by connecting a different online session. You can mute players by pressing Esc then navigating to the "online" tab, then press players. You can mute players from there.

Trolls: These players are the worst you will find. Their main goal in life, is to annoy you and make you rage. Warning: These players are usually somewhat smart and very creative in ways to annoy you. These players may invite you into a car, jump out and blow it up. They may join different missions and purposely mess them up by dying to prevent you from completing your objective. While dealing with these players are annoying and can be really frustrating, try not to loose your cool because that is exactly what they want. Don't react and give them the pleasure of success.

Hackers/Cheaters: These are people you want to avoid at all costs. These "players" might spawn money. Rank up instantly and do other things. But they get banned. There is a guide for how to report cheaters/hackers. After you have all of the information you need to report the "player", leave the session. If you received any money from the hacker it will be removed from your account.

Please do not hack as it will result in a ban from Rockstar.
Conclusion
I hope this guide helped you get familiar with Grand Theft Auto V Online and gave you some tips on keeping your sh*t together when dealing with trollers.

Modders don't normally get banned at all, specially those who drop cash online for players,
You do not lose the money, i haven't either, i still have a ton of modders in my friends list who still plays GTA 5 ONLINE to this day, so to your assumptions about modders being banned in general is completely false, not a lot of "Hackers" or "Modders" have been banned, even the good ones are still safe, same goes with the bad ones, normally if you find any of those bad modders that their only purpose is to ruin your GTA experience online, then you just leave & find another session, i don't really care much about them as they actually helped me out with a lot, heists are a pain at times to play & loadings can be annoying specially when they tend to get stuck at a certain point of ending heists too.

Then again I'll drop out of passive and wreck some poor kid when he says or does something stupid so, idk what category I'd fit in, in that regard. lol

@Terminator966: I'm probably one. I don't whine about PvP though; I simply prefer to stick to passive and explore and do random shit in my '70s rape van. lol

Care Bear - Player who just complains about PvP all the time and wants everyone to hold hands and be friends and just do PvE missions together.
