The Simple Guide to Manually Install Maps
Av Where'sWaldo
A simple guide which helps you understand how to manually install Civ V maps after subscribing to them. This is in response to the map I made. If you have subscribed to Civ V maps yet they don't appear on your mod loading screen in-game then this guide will help. Also if you are downloading my map please read this.

Steps (Installation)
Step 1: Subscribe to the map of your liking. (We will be using my map as a direct example!)
-Just click the large green button that says "Subscribe". If it says: "Subscribed" then you have already subscribed to the map and the downloaded file already exists on your computer.
Step 2: Open the equivalent of the File Explorer for your PC
(Should Look Like This)

Step 3: In the upper right hand box type the map name. For example mine would be "Elder Scrolls Standoff" but without the quotation marks. After typing this in press "enter".

Step 4: There should be either 2 or 3 results that match the name. Find the one that is labeled "mapname.Civ5Map". My map would be called "Elder Scrolls Standoff.Civ5Map". It should either be located in a folder or by itself (both locations are acceptable). Right click the "mapname.Civ5Map" and click copy. Now it has been copied to the clipcoard, also you might want to click copy again to ensure it has successfully copied.

Step 5: Open another File Explorer program and follow the directions below:
1. Click on the equivalent of "This PC" or it might just be OS (C:).
2. Open the OS (C:)
3. Locate the "Program Files (x86)" folder and double click
4. Scroll until you find the folder "Steam" and double click it
5. Then double click the file "SteamApps"
6. Then double click "common"
7. Locate "Sid Meier's Civilization V" and enter the folder
8. Then double click on "Assets"
9. Then double click "Maps"
10. In the "Maps" folder there should be all of your current Civ V maps. In the blank, white space to the right of the files right click. Lastly click the button "Paste" and the Map file should move into your defualt Civ V maps

Step 6: You should now be done installing the map into your Civ V. Read the next Section if you want to play the selected map you chose.
Steps (In-Game)
Step 1: Luanch your Sid Meier's Civilization V game.

Step 2: On the main menu click the "mods" category and then click "accept"

Step 3: Check the Cirlced boxes of the desired mods and the selected map you wish to play. If your certain mods/maps aren't showing up click the "options" button in the right hand corner. Then make sure "show DLC mods" is checked.

Step 4: After making sure the mods/maps are checked green press "NEXT" then press "Singleplayer"

Step 5: Then press "SETUP GAME" and then choose your desired map. If it shows "Load Scenario" then clicking that will use the maps scenario. (If it is a modded map you should check the box).

Step 6: tweak with your prefered settings then click "STARTGAME" and enjoy!

Waldo - I revised my rating and corresponding comments from earlier. I now understand that this is the section for guides to the particular game and the actual content to download and install as mods is located in the separate section. Thank you for clarifying and assisting this newb. :steamsalty:

This is a perfectly accurate guide to installing certain maps for an excellent Sid V experience. I'd take it that you don't understand what I meant by clicking the subscribe button? I must assume you are new to modding because when downloading nearly every mod from the steam workshop platform you are required to click the green "Subscribe" button. When I meant subscribing to my map you must go to the link to subscribe to the map. This is simply a guide to installing maps and does not contain any actual downloadable content. Sorry if this was unclear in the instructions I provided. @EvokerPoker

I don't see a subscribe button unless I'm blind or an idiot. Given that 2042 visitors have only liked this 17 times i am guessing it is inaccurate. Sorry poster, can you please update as your content is relevant?

@Lemme be kLima DzU For some maps you have to manually install to get it to work. Also doing this will enable you to play the map you have downloaded with friends as long as both you and your friends has followed the steps. Because, it makes the downloaded map a verified map along with the other maps.
