okay so to start the quest you need to first finish the Events that lead up to the Mayor getting a sore throat.
once you make him his stew (piping stew) you have to wait a few days before he then comes to you one morning and to thank you (other than the coins)
he will give you an item which I will go over in the next section.
to make the stew you will need: If you follow the quest directions then it tells you everything:
White Potato x 2 (grow them or buy them)
Raw Carrot ( buy them/ get them gifted to you by sparrow (baker) )
Bulb Onion (Gifted by Sparrow)
Wild Mushroom (find these all over the world... look like.. well a mushroom..)
Herbal Mix (found by mixing together evergreen sap and
crushed herbs)


!! You will need a glass bottle for each one and they are found in the world like the mushroom, you can buy glass bottle or dig them up if you have the spade yet.. be warned they are expensive early game)

SKIP THIS IF YOU DONT WANT SPOILERS
In this section I will help people understand how to recruit the fisherman, libriarian and tailor



Fishermen
Maybe the easiest one... maybe not, depends on what your money situation is like as all you need to do is donate 2500 coins to the town, you can do this over a number small donations or one large one. (personaly i would do one large one as there does not seem to be any benefit to going over the 2500, that i have found yet! this will also help you keep track of how much you have donated)
The Donation box (if you did not know) is located inside the Town Hall which is in Primrose Plaza

The next morning or a few mornings later Demetri will appear and tell you someone has returned.

Librarian
this one is tricky as it requires you to grow and sell one of each type of plant in the game, if you want to maxamise profit then only plant one of each of the two crops that are required. (that was a mouthful even for me!)
so basicly in Spring grow: 1 cabbage, 1 Potato and 18 strawberries... obviously once you have got the initial 1 of each you can grow all 20 strawberry, unless ofcourse you want ingrediants for cooking.
Summer: 1 Corn, 1 Melon and 18 Tomato... then the same again
Autumn/ Fall (yucky): 1 carror, 1 pumpkin and 18 Onions
DONT FORGET ABOUT WHEAT (however that can be grown all year round! *Fun fact wheat can be used in the mill located in your barn to create Flour)

The next morning or a few mornings later Demetri will appear and tell you someone has returned.

Sparrow's Sister
if you have been folowing the story which im sure you have, then you will know sparrow has a sister who moved away because her illness was getting to much.
Im not actually sure how I managed to recruit her back but its either one of these:
Friendship with sparrow to at least 5 (I work for him constantly)
Get to Winter (she appeared on 2nd winter for me)
Get 5 Friendships
One of every plant grown - seems to be the most likely (after hearing feedback and testing again)
donate 2500coins to the Town.
Sorry I can not give you any more information than that, however she is not a Major character (in terms she does not give any benefits like a new shop, she is simply another mouth to feed with gifts!)

Tailor
you must get married, by doing this you befriend another spirit... not only that you get a FINE woman to sleep next to.... or man...

Okay so you just got visited by the friendly old mayor who has miraculously healed his poor throat with one bowl of stew.. I think we did a better job than good old doctor Liam.

He will now give you an Item called Dusty Novel.
now if you are like me and read some of the character Bios in the Village Primer then you would think that Anna would want this as she is a lover of books... But no you would be wrong.
The person who actually wants this is the carpenter Benjamin. (turns out the book is actually about a carpenter)

leave him and get on with the rest of the things that you need... I bet hes having a good cry over this book, still a better story than twilight!

a few days later (this seems to be random) He will appear in the morning and thank you, he will then give you a Toy Horse.. and this time you guessed it, this is going straight to the only child in the village Bloom. (he can be found at his farm or near your farm across the water) At least this one makes sense.

Leave him to play knights or what ever it is kids do in this game (worrying as I have seen him in/ near the Inn at nights)

A few days later he will appear in the morning and thank you (seeing a pattern here?)
he will then give you a Dried Sunflower, again you may think this should go to his parent or sister, but if you watch a few cutscenes then you discover that the Mayors wife used to do flower arangments.. gift her the flower.

Leave her to do what ever you do with a Dried Sunflower...

A few days later (for me it was a week) she will come see you in the morning, this time asking you to find a new home for her husbands old Tackle Box
Dont worry its not for the fisherman that you probobaly have not recruited yet, instead its for the mail woman of all people.. give Senah the gift.

Leave her to tackle her new tackle box (sorry that was awful -_- ) *Not Sorry*

A few days later, she will come to see you. she will give you the Traveler's Pin that she no longer wants and asks that you find it a new place to live.
Like you would asume the only real traveler in this viliage is Paxel and yes he is the person we want to give this pin too. unfortuantly he is often out of town. so you may have to wait till he is back. DONT FORGET TO GIVE HIM IT HOWEVER

Leave him to admire his rare items.

A few days later he will return and give you a Fine Paintbrush and yes this one does also go to who you think it would go to. The talented artist Amber

Leave her to well paint... duhh

She will come see you in the morning and give you a Crystal Cup this one was a little obvious when you put two and two together. Go to the inn (its a cup i guess...) speak to Orion

Leave him to.. drink i guess

He will come and see you and hand you his wifes birds Rainbow Feather
go and see the seed seller Violet and she will happily take it off your hands.

Leave her to tickle her son

She will find you in the morning and hand you her old Clinking Bangles
im not going to lie.. this one was horrible to find as the person who it is for hardley ever leaves her home. (i guess that kind of makes it easier actually...)
anyway give Mono (the general shop keeper) the Bangles and she will thank you

Leave her to Bangle it out.

A few days later she will come to your house in the morning and hand you a Red Ribbon she will talk about how these were handed out to brave men and it represents some sort of courage.. ect... blah blah. instantly you should be thinking of Quint our protecter!.. what does he actually protect? I mean those bunnies and birds must be really vicious... right?
Moving on...

Leave him to worship his new Ribbon.

A few Days later he will retrun to you and hand you a rare Item called Noahs Necklet (im guessing its a spelling error?
this is a Item that you dont have to trade away... it gives you more energy which is pretty nice considering the amount of running around you were doing!
