Starters Guide for new players
By Slash2x
Crossover guide of one of the highest rated guides in the Elite Dangerous game community section! Just picked up the game and do not know what to do or where to go? I have some of the essential game tools linked in here. Plus I have a whole series explaining some of the things the training does not cover. I have been playing this game for over 1,000 hours before it even hit Steam.

This site takes all the developer posts on the Frontier forums and drops them into one webpage. It is a really handy tool to see what it going on in the game without having to read the entire forums.

First things first commander you need to know how to get from one side of the galaxy to the other. This section deals with thos inital chalenges as a new player.
Getting into and out of the Station and picking a Career
So you know how to move around now, but you need to practice entering and leaving the station. Also what kind of game are you going to play? Trader? Bounty Hunter? Pirate? Explorer?
It is time to make some $$$ Money! Credits are king!
Now that you have decided what direction you need to go in your career it is time to get some starting credits. Lets go snipe some money!
Tired of that starting Sidewinder? Get a better ship!
So you have those stacks of credits just taunting you now. Lets go blow all that money on some gear in a better ship!
Ready to make a mark on the Galaxy? Lets pick a Faction in Power Play!
There are factions out there that need your help getting more control of star systems and worlds. Picking a faction can make or break relationships in the Galaxy and you need to pick one that matches your preferred playing area and play style.

Steam is eating the preview for some reason here is the direct link to the video
Now that you have a faction lets get some Merit
So merit is the factions currency. In order to advance and get more rank you need to earn merits and the best way to do this is to go and destroy ships from hostile factions!

Looks like Steam wants to eat this one too. So yet another direct link.
Been looking at that planet over there wanting to land on it?
Time to take advantage of the reason Horizons exists, let's go land on one of these planets!
Keep in mind you will need to have the correct landing equipment to be able to make planetfall.
