Summing it up, everything is about to hide intentions and having reflexes to dodge/parry the attacks, as well as assuming a good defense position.

Sorry for my bad english, have a good time playing this great game!

With that in mind, when the enemy is low guard, and keeps on guarding low expecting your tumble + lowkick, then it's a good moment to counterattack with saber throw, although if the enemy is very fast he can avoid with good reflexes. As well, divekick can be delivered in this momment, since if you do fast, the enemy will have problems to block. This game is aswell a game of mind tricking. You gotta do what you seem you won't do. Clashing swords with enemy is a good way to hide your next move as well as putting a distance in order to not be hitten. It might be a good way too, to avoid a direct lunge as you can direct parry and disarm your enemy when he tries to do so. This means you gotta move always chasing your enemy guard, except when you want to attack. In that moment you stop chasing and move your guard in the opposite direction, then lunge pressing forward a little bit, and he is dead if you did it good.

everything has its moment in nidhogg. you've gota vary your strategy so the enemy doesn't expect it. gotta analyze which guard is you're enemy using most, top middle or low. the best guard in my opinion is middle, since from there you can move top or down very fast. Top and mid guard are pretty good against dive kicks trying to disarm you. The reason is that in this game, sabers are starwars-like. Once you touch an enemy with'em, you kill him. So any move must be well executed in order to avoid being hitten by the enemy saber.
