I-Fluid.exe has stopped working
  • Install PhysX Legacy System Software[www.nvidia.com]. If installed successfully, the problem should be solved.

  • Alternatively, right-click I-Fluid in your library - Properties - Local files - Browse local files - navigate to drivers subfolder and install PhysX_7.11.13_SystemSoftware.exe.
Note: It does not matter if you have AMD/ATI or Nvidia GPU. It does not matter if you already have the latest PhysX System Software installed. I-Fluid uses the older PhysX Legacy System Software.

Right-click I-Fluid in your library - Properties - Local files - Browse local files.
Download https://github.com/liandris/steamguides_files/raw/master/I-Fluid/ifluid_steam_fix.exe and place it to your local I-Fluid folder.
  • Run ifluid_steam_fix.exe. Press [Extract], then [Yes to All].

  • Alternatively, if you don't trust 3rd party executable files, rename ifluid_steam_fix.exe to ifluid_steam_fix.7z. Open it with 7-Zip[www.7-zip.org] or other file archiver of your choice. Extract its contents manually into your local I-Fluid folder. Overwrite all files when prompted.

That's the usual way of how Windows asks for your confirmation when running a file downloaded from the internet. You could just reply Yes.

Running the PhysX installer from the local file directory worked better than downloading the .msi installer from the internet.

Upon trying to open the PhysX installer I was presented with this message:

“PhysX-9.12.1031-SystemSoftware-Legacy.msi” is an executable file. Executable files may contain viruses or other malicious code that could harm your computer. Use caution when opening this file. Are you sure you want to launch “PhysX-9.12.1031-SystemSoftware-Legacy.msi”?"

Thank you for the comment. It says the same for me, I just didn't notice this in time. I had no idea Steam decided to add mediafire to their filters. I've re-uploaded the file on github now, hopefully it won't get filtered anymore.

Cause, it says this for everyone else:
"Download {LINK REMOVED} and place it to your local I-Fluid folder."

If you put an @ symbol (or something) before the link, and instruct people to remove the @ symbol, then they can download the file at their own discretion without steam blocking the link. This basically inhibits steam's ability to detect a download link, which it automatically blocks.
