Casual Consular playthrough (Cheats)
By Aetherium: Dominion Kickstarter
This is all just advice. This guide is intended for new buyers of this game and casual players who enjoy the story but dislike messing with gear and stats. Keep in mind that this removes some of the challenge and makes you somewhat overpowered, but does not make you unkillable! The idea is to retain some amount of risk and challenge to keep you interested while making the game quicker and easier to playthrough. This guide will include either the use of KSE or Cheat Codes and modifying the game file, which should be done with caution.

Extra resources and links can be found at the bottom of the guide.

Enabling Cheats
First, you need to download the KotOR Save Game Editor or edit the games .ini file. I prefer the second option, as it lets you test things on the fly.

To enable cheats on Windows, follow these instructions:
C:\<game_directory>\Steam\steamapps\common\Knights of the Old Republic II Then find the kotor2.ini file Open kotor2.ini in notepad Scroll down to game options and add EnableCheats=1 to the list and save

For Linux (and possibly Mac) users follow these instructions:
Go to your "home" folder Crtl+H Search "kotor2.ini" If more than one exists, open and edit of them to be safe Scroll down to game options and add EnableCheats=1 to the list

Now, to test this, open your game and load a save OR create a new character. Once able to play, hit the ~ key (that is right above Tab and just to the left of 1) then type heal and hit enter. Note that no console will appear! The only way you will know it worked is if you see a green floating number as if you were just fully healed
Setting stats
Now for the long, not so very fun part. If you are using KSE, change all your stats there to something between 20-30. If you are not using KSE, change your stats manually the same way you just learned how to heal. The format is set<stat> <number>. It will look like this typed out:
setstrength 20 setcomputeruse 20
Continue this until you have set all your stats between 20 and 30.
Your Starter build
This build and these stats will keep you from having to check every vendor, loot every enemy, or switch out every bit of your gear constantly, greatly increasing the speed in which your can play through while keeping the game fun:

Jal Shey Mentor Armor (Light armor, Doesn't restrict, 3 Defense, Persuade +1, Charisma +2, Wisdom +1
giveitem a_robe_20
Jal Shey Meditation Gloves (Dexterity: +2, Wisdom: +2, Awareness +2
giveitem a_gloves_22
Jal Shey Mentor Belt (Wisdom +2, Force resist +20)
giveitem a_belt_30
Saber (single)
giveitem g_w_lghtsbr11
Kaiburr (Wisdom +3, Constitution +3, Regen: +3)
giveitem u_l_crys_25
Ruusan (Wisdom +1, Charisma +1)
giveitem u_l_crys_02
Ultimate Diatium Energy Cell (Damage +5)
u_l_cell_13
Expert Deflection Emitter (Blaster Deflection: +4, Defense +1)
giveitem u_l_emit_09
Ossus Dueling Lens (Attack +2, Blaster Deflection +3)
giveitem u_l_lens_11
You're done!
Once you set this up, equip what you can, and modify your saber as soon as you get to the first workbench. Then play the game normally. This build and these stats will keep you from having to check every vendor, loot every enemy, or switch out every bit of your gear constantly, greatly increasing the speed in which your can play through while keeping the game fun.

Enjoy!

I don't really think it works for me, I went into my files it took me ten minutes to find the right thing and when I loaded my game back up and press ~ and typed heal nothing happened but when I pressed L my party screen popped open.... :steamsad:

Yea, It's annoying. I'm suprised someone hasn't developed a mod to fix that yet. If you have any other issues just hit me up.

Also, don't worry you didn't waste any of my time. It's all good.

There may be a number of reasons for this. In some OS's there is more than one .ini file, so it's possible that you edited the wrong one. For linux and possibly Mac users, the .ini file you have to edit is located in the aspyr-media folder. I still recommend editing both .ini files just to be safe.

You can find the aspyr-media folder by going to home, hitting ctrl+h, finding .local, then share, then aspyr-media. The .ini file should be right within.

Also, when you enable cheats, the console wont appear so you have to type your codes in blindly.

If this comment didn't in any way help, let me know. I may need more information on what you're doing in order to help you fix the issue.

for me, entering EnableCheats=1 in the file doesn't allow me to enter cheats by pressing ` (~)
