Getting around 3 day trade hold without a smartphone
By Bean Daddy™
I'm here to show you how to bypass steam's new trade protocol, regarding steam's mobile authentication and the 72 - hour trade ban.

The main audience for this guide are people who don't have smartphones, and don't have the technical resources to download and run emulated smartphone software (most are pretty resource intensive) . I will be focusing on android, because it doesn't really matter which one, except that android is easy to emulate and has more resources to do so (online).

Be aware that if even if you use this method, as long as your trading partner doesn't use a smartphone or this method, you will still have to wait 3 days, because both of the traders must use the mobile app.

1. Adding a phone number to your steam account
From your steam profile go to your account settings

https://store.steampowered.com/account/

and from there add a phone number to your account in the contact info section.
2. Getting the App
Now you need the app package name from Google play:

com.valvesoftware.android.steam.community
^^^^^ you need to copy this. ^^^^^

In the end you can use either use a apk file or url for this, but I highly suggest following the guide and using the apk file. So once you have copied the package name above, we need to use it to get the physical app.

Go to this website:

http://apps.evozi.com/apk-downloader/

and paste the package name and click "generate download link".
From there you click the green download link.

3. Online Android Emulator
Now we have to go to a online emulator. I'm using Manymo. It's an online emulator that lets you launch an andriod emulator 10 times a month for free. To get around the limit you can just use and alternate email to sign up after clearing cookies - just make sure when uploading the app on a new account that you change the name to something random.

https://www.manymo.com/

sign-up, confirm via email, and login. Once you're in you want to click the "launch with app" link on the main page.

It will take you to a page to upload the apk we just got, which you can just drag and drop it in. After that, it will remember to launch with the app every time for your specific account.

At the launch emulators page you can choose the size you want, click launch, and it will take you to the page where the emulated android is (in-browser).

From there you simply signed in like you do online, and set it up. If you need to know how to set up the app, here is the link to the official guide from steam:
