  • [Dec 10, 2015] - Better end wave detection implemented.
  • [Dec 9, 2015] - Fixed music "hiccups" between mob waves. [Reported by Funkey Groove]
Requirements
You will need a music player capable of handling Keyboard Media Keys (i.e Play, Stop, Fast Forward, etc; that you find in some keyboards).

It’s not required to have a keyboard with Media Keys, but it helps in some cases. (See the Tips section of this guide).

By using this software, you are agreeing with this license.[raw.githubusercontent.com]
Installation
  1. Download KF2_MediaPlayer.exe, [github.com] and KF2_MediaPlayer_Hook.dll;[github.com]
  2. Place them next to KFGame.exe. It’s usually located in “C:\Program Files\Steam\steamapps\common\killingfloor2\Binaries\Win64”.
Note: If you are not comfortable running software from strangers; that’s a good policy; you can check and compile the project yourself here.[github.com]
How to use
  1. Open your media player and create a playlist with music you want to hear. Make sure you put the playlist on repeat mode, otherwise you may run out of songs;
  2. Press play and immediately pause the player;
  3. With Steam running, execute KF2_MediaPlayer.exe. The game should start.
As soon as the “Wave music” starts, your playlist should also start.
Tips
  • You should mute the game’s music in the Audio settings, by lowering the volume to zero;
  • Sometimes the music doesn't stop after finishing a wave, or doesn't start at the beginning of a wave. Use your keyboard media keys to play or stop the music in these circumstances;
  • You probably need to adjust the music player’s volume to match the game’s volume.
  • If you are missing "MSVCP140.dll", you need to install Visual C++ Redistributable for Visual Studio 2015.[www.microsoft.com]

Sorry, if this is stated somewhere and I'm just not seeing it, but can this be used for online play?

Here's a Spotify playlist [open.spotify.com] for people who enjoyed songs in Kf2 already.

Cool app! Id like to see more features come to this if possible, like have it switch to bgm music in between waves

What media player do you reccomend? I tried windows media player but it wouldn't stop after a wave was over, and when I manually stopped it it wouldn't start when the wave started, so that one doesn't work.

EDIT: Tried windows media player, VLC, and foobar and none of them are working properly.

Every map. It's mostly whenever the trader says something that it happens. Although this game has given me plenty of technical difficulties so it's entirely possible that it's only messed up for me.

@shadowofbaraddun Should be working. Try to select a windows, other than Spotify's, and press play on your keyboard. If the music starts, it should also start in game.

@Upggrade The music should only stop in trader phase. Can you specify the maps and places where the music stopped?

@Sandman Eh Docholiday332 It's a good idea but to achieve that, we need a internal player. Maybe something for the future...

Thanks for this but I do have one complaint. The music stops way too much, it seems like I have to hit play every 30 seconds.
