How to find a Mod / Workshop ID in the Workshop.

This guide shows how to find the MOD / Workshop ID of any mod in the Steam WorkShop.

Here you will learn an easy method for finding out the MOD / Workshop ID for most MOD's in the Steam WorkShop.

This is handy in case the mod author forgot to include it in the description and you need it quickly.
This way you can help yourself and don't need to ask and wait for an answer.

Note: It has come to my attention that some games differentiate MOD ID and Workshop ID, when I created this guide all the games I had played, modded or run servers for had up to that point used the same ID for both. Please keep this in mind when reading below and or watching my video.

If you don't want to watch the video the simple quick way is to just right click anywhere on the background of the mod page, choose "copy page url" and then paste the text anywhere you can for example into notepad or even the comment box of the mod itself, the numbers after the "?id=" of the page url will be the workshop id number which in many cases is also the mod id you are seeking.


Update: Re-did the video, more to the point, removed "advanced" information or methods.

@Scythern Copy the url at the top of the workshop page, paste it in the mod list in the server launcher.

If anyone comes here in the future who knows how to reliably get the Mod ID (not workshop ID) for project zomboid mods, I'd love to know. Currently, the only way I know of is hoping the mod author put it in the description.

Thanks for posting that link, it allowed me to quickly see what you are talking about.
The 6 or 8 games I hosted servers for only ever used the same id referring to it as mod id and / or workshop id, they were always the same.
I see what you posted there for Project Zomboid they use a more common name for the mod id.
I have not played that game so I cannot speak as to it's mod setup.
I will add an addendum to my text above (not record a new video) later today to reflect that new information.
This is not really a forum and the only place you can communicate in regards to this guide so no, it's not a necro at all, no problem there.

@Max A game called Project Zombiod has an extensive amount of mods that predominantly require a mod id and workshop id. The majority of the mods will use a workshop and mod id (mods are in the steam workshop)(random example: https://gtm.steamproxy.vip/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=2684285534)
