Achievement Guide
By Teague Vox
This is a detailed guide for completionists and hunters out there looking for advice on grabbing the full 46. All of these can and probably should be done using one player. This guide is being written as of patch 2.2, and to my understanding Arrowhead no longer intends to provide update support to the game so this should never need to be updated, but if you have any questions please feel free to shoot me a message.

Explosive Exit

Explosive Exit
Die from Area Damage

You will likely get this by accident from the mummy priests in the first few dungeons but it also stacks with Embracing The End. All you need to do is die by either striking a dynamite barrel and standing next to it (or carry it,) with little health left or attack an exploding mummy then let the AOE of it's explosion hit you.
Suddenly Skewered

Suddenly Skewered
Die by taking damage from a Spike Trap.

This is another you will likely get by accident. In the Crypt levels there are a lot of spike traps laid out and as if this needs direction, all you have to do is stand on top of them until you die.
The Undeath Of Khamun

The Undeath Of Khamun
Kill the Boss of the Cryps.

Khamun (as well as all of the bosses in this game,) can be quite a pain in the butt, but I recommend doing this with two players if at all possible, though if you are on your own;

The goal is to line the glyphs in the center of the room up to draw out the Sun King's heart. You do this by standing on the platforms on either side of it long enough to spin them into place.

Keeping your spacing can be very hard because he'll be constantly summoning spawners in the upper corners of the arena. The best way I can come up with to keep the chaos manageable is to take one spawner out then stand on the platform parallel to it until Khamun gets too close, then dart to the other side and lure him over there. It's best to keep only one spawner out at a time because if you take them both out he'll simply resummon both of them and you'll have to fight with the crowd again until you break one of them. Again.

As your darting back and forth keep an eye on the pattern in the middle. They need to rotate a certain distance depending on how much health he has left. As he gets closer to you, try to lure him over to the walls and corners to give yourself as much standing time as possible on the adjacent platform.

When you do draw his heart out I suggest you bring all of your magic and relics out all at once because his heart will only be exposed for a limited amount of time. Do as much damage each time and you'll eventually take him down.

Just a heads up but the lower his health gets, the faster he stomps towards you. And don't play chicken with The Sun King, he will OHKO you with the boot of justice.
Precision Strike

Precision Strike
Kill 500 monsters with Magic Arrow or Sniper Shot - Elf

The elf is a very well rounded character in my opinion, he was the first hero I chose when I started playing and ended up being the one I used for all of the grinding achievements. His sniper shot is very useful for chipping away at really important targets and spawners from far away while kiting from crowds of enemies but unfortunately there's really no way to make grinding it easier. I would find a spawner on easy or normal difficulty, stay to one side of the room and pick them off as they jump out. Though if you're like me and you plan on using the elf for a long time, you'll likely get this over time just using him.
As Luck Would Have It... - Gold

As Luck Would Have It... - Gold
Destroy 800 Props With One Hero

Though the achievement says Props, it fails to specify that the props involved with this achievement are gold pots. They're available in every area of the game so this should be very easy to get. You can just redo the first dungeon in the Crypt repeatedly but it will be easier not to farm this and just get it running through the game.
Icy Tomb

Icy Tomb
Die while Frozen

This is very easy to do. When you reach the necromancers and liches in the game they will occasionally shoot ice beams at you. Simply get hit by the beam and allow a smaller enemy to kill you.
Besting The Beast Of Orox

Besting The Beast Of Orox
Kill The Boss of the Caves

The Beast of Orox is the second boss character in the game but arguably the easiest. Orox will dart back and forth across the platform you fight him on and try to tackle you to death. He will occasionally jump into the surrounding swamp and try to ambush you but he's pretty predictable. Just keep moving and attacking - he does have an invincibility that will only drop occasionally (I believe when you kill all of his minions but I don't actually know what drops his invincibility,) but when he's vulnerable his health bar will be visible at the top of the screen. His attacks are very telegraphed so it isn't hard to solo though I would suggest using valkyrie and her shield just in case you're not up to par with predicting his lunges.
Furious Charge

Furious Charge
Tackle 500 Monsters using Rush - Warrior

The Warrior is an interesting character and as you approach hard difficulty this will begin to become your best friend while using him. Rush will bowl over and stun crowds of small enemies and set them up for a tilt-o-whirl of doom.

This achievement can be done on the same enemies multiple times and only does a tiny amount of damage so you can get between a couple of spawners and repeatedly bash through the crowd to get the cheev in only a couple of minutes.
Morak Defeated

Morak Defeated
Kill The Boss of the Temple

Morak is the wizard you met at the beginning of the game, the narrator throughout it and the final boss. He can be quite a pain and I would say he's the biggest challenge in your way.

You have to fight him in a small arena - he will regularly spawn portals that will themselves spawn enemies while you fight him. The more damage you do to him the tougher the enemies that come from the spawner will be.

If there were one achievement on this list I would suggest a partner for, this would be it. The valkyrie is very good at dealing with congested arenas like this since her shield and mirror ring can help cull crowds without you kiting them. You really want to keep on top of the enemies as they spawn, they can converge on you very quickly.

After the spawners spew about three waves of enemies at you Morak will send the sword at you and splinter off into a small cloud of doppelgangers. The real Morak will be colored slightly differently but it's very easy to kill the fakers. You will want to shift your priorities to hitting the real Morak from taking crowds of minions out when he does, he won't wait for you to dispatch them. Keep on his butt and he'll eventually fall, once you learn how to take care of the spawner's group patterns he's a little easier to predict.

I want to stress keeping an eye out for the sword attacks. Avoid at all costs because it will do very heavy damage and is hard not to prioritize avoiding.
Eye for an Eye

Eye for an Eye
Block 100 projectiles with Shield Block - Valkyrie

This is really easy, when a monster sends a projectile at you, if you block it with her shield it will bound back. In the final wave of enemies in Maxime's Mummuary there will be quite a few mummy priests to bounce projectiles back at and doing that over and over again will get the cheev to pop fairly fast.

It's also very easy to do this in the later lava levels. Gargoyles attack with a series of fireballs so if you stand very far away from them while they attack you can reflect a good 6 or 7 fireballs at a time.
Seriously Severed

Seriously Severed
Die by taking damage from a Blade Trap

I don't know how this isn't higher in the globally unlocked list but you will very easily be able to pop this cheev once you finally encounter bladed traps in the walls in the cave levels. It's really easy to sit on front of and hara kiri for the trophy.
Deader than Dead - Gold

Deader than Dead - Gold
Die 8 Times in one session on a single Floor

This can be more difficult than it seems, but the easiest way for you to die 8 times in a single level would be to find an area with a spawner or two and kill dregs until you have a token, then get yourself killed. If you have no tokens it's much easier to get to 1 so I suggest you play it a little less safe this way unless you want to kill enemies for hours.
Heroic Hunger - Gold

Heroic Hunger - Gold
Eat food equal to 6000 health in total With One Hero

This will be very easy to get if you're focusing on making it through your first time with one hero but as the title says, eat a bunch of food and it'll pop. If you're really insistent on grinding this though I would suggest doing Maxime's Mummuary over and over again.
Embracing the End

Embracing the End
Die by taking Area Damage from an Explosive Barrel that you are Carrying

This is pretty self explanatory, but in case you have learning problems all you have to do is attack a barrel with low health, then pick it up and go boom.
Dying for a Living - Gold

Dying for a Living - Gold
Die 100 Times With One Hero

This is really easy to stack when you're farming for your damage achievements, or if you really suck at this game. In the event that you're a god mode dungeon crawler though it's easiest to begin an arena area on hard mode and just tap A on the controller over and over again, eventually you go through enough cycles of dying and retrying that the achievement will come.
Vampiric Touch

Vampiric Touch
Ghostwalk through 500 enemies - Necromancer

The ghostwalk achievement is almost the same as Furious Charge procedurally. The necromancer's ghostwalk will toss her through a crowd of enemies and in most cases you are invincible, unless it's against a larger grunt like a big orc and he just so happens to be trying to guillotine you with his club at the time of impact or a spider queen decides she likes leap frogging into your bum.

Get a crowd of grunts together and just ghostwalk through them over and over again until you get this.
Crypt Kicker - Gold

Crypt Kicker - Gold
Complete all Crypt Levels on Hard

The crypt levels are fairly easy on their own, the large mummies can pose a threat on hard mode but so long as you know how to avoid being cornered and utilize the exploding mummies you should get to Khamun just fine. Beating HIM on hard mode is quite a challenge though.

The Sun King is much faster and hardier on hard mode as you would expect but the biggest pain in the butt is the spawners and their waves of grunts. On hard mode they're faster, and that will put your timing skills to the test when you're trying to lure Khamun back and forth but the same concept still applies from my explanation in The Undeath of Khamun. Just lure him back and forth and away from the button you're standing on until the glyphs in the center line up.

And FYI, das boot is much deadlier now. Even deadlier than OHKO. OoooOoOOooo
Dropper of Crowns - Gold

Dropper of Crowns - Gold
Drop the Crown 200 Times With One Hero

This is really easy to do while you're farming deaths for Deader than Dead - Gold. Grab the crown each time and let a mummy slap it off of you a few times before you die, then slaughter it, grab your crown back, rinse and repeat.
Heir of Valhalla - Gold

Heir of Valhalla - Gold
Take 12000 Cumulative Damage as the Valkyrie

As explained in Mysteries of the Elf-folk - Gold, the easiest way to take tons of damage in a short ammount of time would be to head to an arena level, and just keep tapping A on your controller. After a long series of respawning and retrying you will eventually do enough damage to yourself to make every emo kid you've ever known envious, and also get an achievement for it.
Mysteries of the Elf-folk - Gold

Mysteries of the Elf-folk - Gold
Take 15000 Cumulative Damage as the Warrior

See Heir of Valhalla - Gold or Mysteries of the Elf-folk - Gold.
Mummy Slayer - Gold

Mummy Slayer - Gold
Kill 15000 Mummies With One Hero

These grind achievements will be the bane of your existence.

Mummies are most easily accessible in Maxime's Mummuary. I suggest setting the difficulty to Easy and waiting until you have four spawners sending waves of stupid mummies to die to your overpowered self. I also suggest being drunk while you do this because the boredom MIGHT actually kill more of your brain cells if you don't.
Temple Toppler - Gold

Temple Toppler - Gold
Complete all Lava Levels on Hard

I strongly suggest you learn to kite and cull with the elf in the lava levels. String enemies along and blast them with a sniper bomb. Either that or bring Captain Ameri-valkyrie and her shield along to hide you while you wait for your relics to cool down and sneak in on spawners all night. The warrior is also a good option because you're going to be spending a lot of time trying to rush through crowds to get to chanting cultist priests before they rain death from above, and of course his spin attack is very handy for dealing with clusters of demons and cultists in tight areas.

Morak, as expected, is the hardest part of all of the lava levels on the toughest difficulty. The same basic principal applies as explained in Morak Defeated but your timing has to be much tighter and you REALLY need to get a strong grip on crowd control. For Morak, I do absolutely suggest valkyrie, because once he begins spawning gargoyles, reflecting their fireballs back into crowds of silly demons is an invaluable way of avoiding having your anus torn into a mile-wide void of bloody regret and pain.

Other than that, prioritize avoiding the sword and chipping away at the real Morak. You can do it!
Stormcaller - Gold

Stormcaller - Gold
Kill 8000 Monsters with Lightning Spells

Wizard's only real lightning spell you can deal with crowds of enemies with is the lightning/ice spell (the one that arcs a shot through a line of enemies.)

You can try and use the glorious backhand of doom (lightning/fire) to keep things out of your grill but it doesn't do a great lot of damage but any defensive tactics are all welcome to the glass canon Wiz.

Again, I suggest Maxime's Mummuary on normal difficulty and just hide behind a lightning bubble and if some turkey mummy decides he wants a piece, give him the most shocking ♥♥♥♥♥-slap he's ever been on the receiving end of.

I would say of all of Merlin's elemental spells this one took me the longest.
Whirling Death - Gold

Whirling Death - Gold
Kill 12000 Monsters with Warrior Weapon Abilities

Thor's spinning attack is very very good at crowd control which dovetails nicely with the gargantuan number of enemies you have to kill to earn this achievement. I would suggest farming this in Maxime's Mummuary again, with four spawners sending waves of foolish mum's to their re-deaths.
Slayer - Gold

Slayer - Gold
Kill 50000 Monsters With One Hero

This is the mofo of all grind achievements in this game and this is also why I suggest doing all of your mob-specific kill achievements with your favorite hero. This will take quite a long time otherwise.

If you are some kind of masochist though then I would suggest the same grindy strategy I did in so many others where you start Maxime's Mummuary on normal difficulty and with four spawners to your back, mow leagues of enemies down. For hours. And hours. AND HOURS.

If you're notching warrior's axe it'll grind to splinters.
Bombardier - Gold

Bombardier - Gold
Kill 12000 Monsters with Elf Weapon Abilities

The elf's sniper bomb is the only ability he has of dealing with crowds of enemies, otherwise you're best use for him would be sniping important targets with teams of other people. So most times you'll be bringing his basic bow with the bombs.

It's also the easiest way of clearing out the Mummuary in elven style. Again, I suggest you stroll into there on Normal and let four spawners feed your bow like virgins to Pele.
The Captain's Special - Gold

The Captain's Special - Gold
Kill 12000 Monsters with Valkyrie Weapon Abilities

I strongly suggest equiping Final Justice for this and every other endeavor with the valkyrie. Kiting along a string of baddies into a circle then executing them all in one swing is a very satisfying way of playing. And it also happens to be the way I suggest going about grinding this achievement!

Mummuary/Final Justice/Herding/Victory
Curse of the Undying - Gold

Curse of the Undying - Gold
Take 10000 Cumulative Damage as the Necromancer

See Heir of Valhalla - Gold or Mysteries of the Elf-folk - Gold.
Flamewalker - Gold

Flamewalker - Gold
Kill 8000 Monsters with Fire Spells

Fire spells will likely be your offensive bread and butter when using the wizard, all of them have great offensive power and even the fire/fire spell will allow you to do some basic kiting and darting with him.

Farming them at once can be a challenge though, so unless you want to move to easy mode and have fewer monsters to contend with I would suggest you farm this in tandem with the lightning spells in the Mummuary.
Accomplished Master - Gold

Accomplished Master - Gold
Take 10000 Cumulative Damage as the Wizard

See Heir of Valhalla - Gold or Mysteries of the Elf-folk - Gold.
Lich Slayer - Gold

Lich Slayer - Gold
Kill 50 Liches With One Hero

The Sea Of Darkness on easy is a great place to farm liches, it's a short little arena that will spawn two of them at once near the end. I find liches are very easy to dispatch with the elf since he can just dodge roll out of the AOE attacks while dropping bombs in the center of his spawning circles.
Frostweaver - Gold

Frostweaver - Gold
Kill 8000 Monsters while they are Frozen or Chilled

The wizard only has one damage-dealing ice spell but the good news is it's also one of his most useful. Ice/ice may be a very slowly turning ice laser but if you're in a corner or down a hallway it will funnel everything into a slow death, and is extremely adept at taking spawners out.

Again I suggest the Mummuary with this, take one spawner out when you have four of them and just aim south.
Eating off the Floor - Gold

Eating off the Floor - Gold
Destroy the Food 500 Times With One Hero

This is self-explanatory but I would suggest going through the game once with your favorite hero and destroy any foods you don't immediately need and will not come back to later. Once you finish the game you can just go to any arena level and attack the food, restart, and repeat until the achievement pops.
Spider Queen Slayer - Gold

Spider Queen Slayer - Gold
Kill 50 Spider Queens With One Hero

Unfortunately I don't think there are very many places to farm these ladies so my best option to offer would probably be farming The Nest repeatedly on easy difficulty. They are a pain to get close to as well as the egg sacs since they can spawn a little nipper just as you're approaching so I suggest the wizard or elf to deal with them.
Grunt Slayer - Gold

Grunt Slayer - Gold
Kill 15000 Grunts With One Hero

Repeating The Dragon's Realm over and over again on Normal seems to be a steady and balanced way of grinding grunt kills over and over again and the stage offers little to no interference from orcs and spiders.
Cultist Slayer - Gold

Cultist Slayer - Gold
Kill 15000 Cultists With One Hero

Cultists are the only thing in the lava worlds that bleed red, and The Keep of the Demon Cult is filled with them. The cultist priests are a serious pain in the butt with their death lasers though so prioritize taking them out as soon as possible when grinding these guys. The faster cultists can also be a pain in the butt since their attacks generate huge amounts of knockback and damage and they move much faster.

Cultists are also really easy to farm in the colosseum levels when they're available so if the opportunity rises, take it. So long as you're up to the challenge of dealing with them on hard mode.
Skeleton Slayer - Gold

Skeleton Slayer - Gold
Kill 15000 Skeletons With One Hero

Skeletons are the easiest monster to grind kills for in the game. They're the first monster you encounter and if you're using the valkyrie her shield will instantly kill them if they attack you.

The Sea Of Darkness is a fine choice for farming them but you also have to deal with liches and mummies so I suggest repeating the Tombs of the Risen on normal with Thyra until your achievement pops.
Orc Slayer - Gold

Orc Slayer - Gold
Kill 15000 Orcs With One Hero

Fun fact, this was the last achievement I got in the game, big orcs are real nuisances.

The Dungeon of Discord is your destination this time. You'll actually want to do this on hard difficulty, otherwise it will take much much longer since orcs are pretty slow. Take out the grunt spawners on the left and right, then open the gates in the middle. After you deal with the spider queen you can just funnel the orcs into which ever slaughter machine you decide to throw at them. Of all of the monsters in this game they're still the slowest to grind and after going through the game once you'll find they're more than likely the monster you've killed the least.
Demon Slayer - Gold

Demon Slayer - Gold
Kill 15000 Demons With One Hero

Demons are the last mobs you will encounter in the game but they're not all that threatening. The Pathway just before The Heart of the Gauntlet and The Pyre are very easy places to farm depending on your mood and patience for arenas. I find both yielded about the same amount of kills on normal mode but the Pathway is great for keeping you awake.

The valkyrie is great at taking care of demons with gargoyles spawning since she can reflect their fireballs back into a crowd of demons for you and two will kill the gargoyles for you, which is useful since they have a lot of health and can be difficult to approach while you're trying to mow down legions of the damned.
We Need To Go Deeper - Bronze/Silver/Gold

We Need To Go Deeper - Bronze/Silver/Gold
Survive until Floor 50 in Endless Mode

This is the hardest achievement in the game and despite what your logic is telling you it's much easier to go it alone since the more players you add to the mix the more enemies you have to deal with. You will get portals on levels 19 and 37 so if you can make it to those on your quest for this one, you can start over again from there if you run into trouble later.

I strongly suggest you don't try and ration your money. Buy everything you can, prioritizing tokens and potions, and I also strongly suggest getting to know the valkyrie intimately since her shield and ring of mirrors may be the only way you can deal with some of the harder levels. I did a lot of hiding in corners with my shield up while I wait for cooldowns to pass in the cave levels for sure.

Once you reach the second wave of levels you will also be running blind because the maps will now be in the dark (with the exception of the lava levels,) so that's another really good reason to drag the valkyrie through this one since you won't know what kinds of monsters will just dart out of the dark at you when you can't see. Her shield used in tandem with mirror magic and her third weapon is a really great combination for keeping you alive in massive crowds of hostiles.

Even with this in mind keeping a big stockpile of continues up is important because the shield has a limit when it comes to crowd control in some situations - you can be swarmed on all sides when the game decides to drop you in between four spawners and two liches. Once situations in overcrowded areas get unmanageable they can very easily stay there and drain your stock of lives.

Be patient with this and take every room slowly and carefully, it's going to take a long time no matter what strategy you take so you may as well think about every room methodically. Always prioritize spawners and mini bosses like spider queens and liches and you're road to this achievement and your completion of Gauntlet will be much smoother. Best of luck, champion.

excellent guide!
