Tying up loose ends

As mentioned in the Bespoke SG553 description text, during development I made some quick experiments with tiling patterns which I left by the wayside as they didn’t suit that specific model, but I haven’t abandoned them! I’ve decided to carry them on a little further and applied them to a few weapons that suit the channel-separated application methods (AA/AM/HY). I had to do some tests to work out exactly how the paint layers interact so created my own test textures to determine colour mixes. (I've made an Imgur Link to the textures, help yourself - just convert to VTF first then test in workbench with a few colours)

All these application methods stack the layers in this order from bottom to top: Base (col0), R (col1), G (col2) and B (col3). Unlike a standard RGB process each of the channels overprints the one below, however it is still possible to mix the inks to a fair degree and so a more sophisticated result can be achieved with some trial and error. AM and HY Flip the X axis, SP and AA Flip the X axis AND rotate 180 degrees.

Anything randomly applied is really geared toward low tier weapons so please bear that in mind. Also these application methods have some minor visual side-affects so I’ve gone with the ones that worked best with the specific models.
