Altis C.A.S. Operations (F14D Edition)

Altis C.A.S. Operations is a combined ops mission that focuses on air-to-ground and air-to-air combat. Support ground forces by taking out high priority targets while also keeping an eye on your six for priority enemy fighters that patrol the skies.

THIS IS THE AWESOME F-14D TOMCAT EDITION WHICH WILL LET YOU FLY THE F-14D!

You will mostly be flying in hostile enemy territory, stay somewhere too long on the map, and the enemy will dispatch more fighters to take you out.

This may not be for the novice pilot. Once you get shot down, you will be ejected and land at a random location on the map. You will then need to call for evac to get back to base to be able to continue the mission.

YOUR MAIN OBJECTIVE:
- Recon and search over the areas indicated on the map to find priority ground targets.
- When all ground targets in the marked areas are found, the area marker will be removed.
- Destroy all priority ground targets. (11 ground targets total.)
- Destroy all priority air targets. (8 priority air targets total. Their locations are not revealed on the map.)

If you want to play this mission SINGLE PLAYER, please start this mission via MULTIPLAYER LAN
Best played with two or more players.

Tips:

Having trouble moving the planes on the deck? Equip your UAV terminal that you have on you, if not find some in the support boxes on the deck. Open the UAV terminal and then you can control any of the stompers on the deck!

Want to double up in one of the two-seaters? You can! All of the two seater planes are unequiped, so make sure you load them up with weapons, especially the ALTFLIR targeting pod so the Weapons Officer can attack air units.

Be mindful of your fuel. Using afterburners for an extended period of time will deplete fuel much faster. Make sure you have enough for the trip to and from the combat area.

Going at it solo? It may be more frustrating doing it lone-wolf style. Play with your friends to help you out!

HOW TO USE HELICOPTER EVAC:

If you ejected out and/or got shot down and ended up on the ground do the following:

1) Press 0 to open menu

2) Press 8 for supports menu

3) Press 1 or 2 depending on which helicopter is available to provide evac.

4) Look at the ground directly in front of you and hit 1 to tell the helicopter to come to your current location.

5) Wait for helicopter to arrive. Should take no longer than 3 minutes.

6) Get in the helicopter.

7) Once you are in, hit M to open the map. Drag the map to the area you want to be dropped off at. DO NOT HIT 1 JUST YET.

8) Hover the mouse over the desired location of drop-off.

9) Press 1 to tell the helicopter to drop you off at that location.

10) Wait for the wheels to touch the ground before exiting the helicopter.

Known common issues:

- You may spawn in the water. Just respawn and you should respawn back on the carrier deck.
- Does not work properly in single player scenario. Play in multiplayer LAN only if you wish to play alone.
- Pick up helicopter will not land on carrier deck. Just EJECT when the wheels of the helicopter touch the ground. Use third person view.
