The Empire (Boring Human Good Guys)
The Empire, is your standard Medieval-Centric Goody-Two-Shoes Faction in the entire game. They are so plain and standard to the point of being painful both metaphorically and literally. This standard is reflected in the units and unit progression they have available. There are no twists or gimmicky units compared to other factions. They tend to be in the jack-of-all-trades but master-of-none when it comes to specializtion. I suppose the key feature is that they have an above average Tank (Squire) and slightly ok slightly ♥♥♥♥♥♥ ranged unit (archer), a decent AOE artillery (Apprentice), and a decent healer (Acolyte)

The Progression of Units in The Empire is mostly very straightforward and is usually does feel like an upgrade, with some exceptions. Please do take not that IMO I find the Archer unit Growth to be lacking. you will usually feel it upon upgrading the Marksma to the Imperial Assassin due to the decease in range from 4 hexes to 3 hexes, which I find to be absolutely disruptive to positioning at times. Please be warned that in Discples 3, positioning is key to winning battles. Granted there are a couple of units that have piss poor range compared to the Assassin those units have abilities that allow escape or can just outlast enemy units through sheer tankiness or use of CC abilities (See Banshee.

The Squire Tree is very standard. I suppose the most notable paths is the Witch Hunter or the Knight. The Witch Hunter Path allows for more damage due to the ability to strike twice however the ability to take damage is severly compromised, despite the fragility going further down the path will allow you to promot your Witch Hunter to more tankier units (Witch Hunter -> Inquisitor -> Grand Inquisitor). The Knight Path Branches out to

Sounds more like a rant than a guide, Empire specialize in defensive tactics, elves have a broad archer line and all of their troops are evasion specialists Legion focuses all in on accuracy based units dealing fire, crush, or slash damage and are closer to jack of all master of none. Undead Horde are slow, sluggish and highly inaccurate compared to their living counterparts, BUT they can make any enemy crumble if they get access to their full range of spells as they go straight for attributes and focus more on debuffs(mind rot+ghost line unit+poisoned gift+a mage leader with frostbite ring will trigger mind rot constantly, combo this with maw of death) Sadly they are a slow start faction until you have sufficient mana variances at hand and their troops are mostly death or mind focused(they can reduce both with spells).

This guide is either unfinished or just a rant after a bad day 😅. Try to use mods, some add units, unit tree and change the gameplay.
