Insanity Mode / Max Desecration Video Guide

Coming soon.
Characters
This is a complete list of all the original characters. Excluding the pumpkin guy since I rarely ever use Fear and haven't unlocked him yet.

  • The Seeker

Your first character and not really worth using after you start getting better ones.
Default Ability gained a buff and feels much more useful than before.
    No special stats.

  • The Scientist

    +10% Move Speed
Automatically knows what every potion is.
Default Ability will give a random potion effect.
    - Also not really worth using.
[Unlock Criteria: To be Written in]

  • Scar

    No special statistics
Default Ability fires stronger and bigger projectiles than The Seeker but still not very good as far as abilities go.
    - Should switch to him as soon as you unlock him but not worth using once you've gotten better characters.
[Unlock Criteria: To be Written in]

  • StarCreep

    +2 HP, +0.25 Damage
CANNOT equip Organs, is still able to use Relics/Swords/Talismans
Special Ability teleports him somewhere at random.
    - A character that's worth using maybe if you want more of a challenge. Not so much otherwise due to the big loss of DPS that comes with being unable to use Organs.
[Unlock Criteria: To be Written in]

  • The Priest

    +1 HP, +0.25 Damage, -20% Move Speed
    Special Ability nullifies projectiles nearby.
    - Definitely a character worth using, You'll have to make up for his low speed by dodging around constantly.
[Unlock Criteria: To be Written in]

  • The Eye

-2 Max HP, +0.50 Damage, +25% Move Speed
Special Ability releases a powerful explosion, equivalent to the Explosion potion.
    Shoots lasers by default.
    - Great character but not for the accident prone due to his very low health.

  • The Brawler

    +0.75 Damage, +5% Move Speed
Special Ability makes him invincible for 1 second, can do damage to enemies by running into them.
    Can't stand still.
    - Overall a great character with basically no real drawback. Having to move constantly is really not a big deal but you have to avoid walls.

  • The Embalmer

-25% Move Speed, -60% Rate of Fire
Special Ability is an explosion that goes in every direction.
Gets stronger when low on health.
Starts off with Rain Death in addition to the regular attack.
    - On paper seems terrible but starting off with Rain of Death is a great boon early on and the low health strength can be a great help in a pinch.

  • The Skeleton King

+300% Plague Damage, -0.2 Damage, -2 Max HP, MP Regen +2,
Special Ability shoots out 14 plague bullets in every direction.
    - An interesting character that makes a better caster than the other ones assuming you put the right items on him. Worth messing around with, he's the character I used when I finally beat the game on Insanity due to getting really lucky with plague items.
Unlocking the Dark Realm
1. Go to the Maze of Ix and find this creature.

2. Hold Down R2 (Or whatever key will cause you to cease firing) and stand next to him until your screen turns completely red.

3. You'll pop up in The Dark Realm and unlock portals that will take you directly there afterwards.

Tips & Secrets
  • The Exit Portal is always located in the northmost section of the map.

  • Every stage has at least one item (Special Chest or Grimoire) and one elite enemy that will drop an organ. Try not to leave the stage before you've found both.

  • Rarely you can find a named Starchild called Myrthekyo the Eyeflayer, he has a guaranteed drop of one Starchild Eye.

  • In the Ossein Swamps, keep your eyes peeled for a rare grey creature that also drops an item.

  • Activating the Demon Forge will unlock the Tri-Blades. i've seen it appear most often in Ossein Swamps

  • If you find a shopkeeper selling potions, you'll see that the potions that he has for sale are ID'd for you. If you can just remember what the potion looked like later when it drops (assuming you didn't buy it) then the ID will be the same.

  • It's a good idea to disable scanlines and enable your hitbox to make dodging much easier. You can find these settings in the options menu.

There is technically a way you can use organs as the starcreep:
If you change into one of the demon forms on the floor and then take all of the organs left on that floor, you can switch back to the starcreep and keep the organs.

I've got all the unlocks currently possible, (So all but the third emissary insanity), and am working on making a guide to the game, would you like to make videos for the guide. Secondly, how did you get your images for each character. I can't find the texture files and they would be hugely useful to making a guide. I also know what all the unlocks are.
