Introduction
  • Legion Commander is a Strenght hero that can be Carry, Durable, Initiator and Disabler at the same time. She also can be a Nuker if have Duel Victory Damage.
  • Legion Commander can playing on any lane and can also jungle too.
  • Legion Commander haven't seen as Carry in Professional Scene yet, although it had picked as Off-lane by Natus Vincere played by Funn1k but it wasn't perfect as well. (I didn't mean that I'm more expert than him but that was Professional Scene, I hope you all understand me. :P)
Pros / Cons
Pros
  • Excellent base movement speed at 320.
  • Survivable in any lane with Moment of Courage and Press the Attack.
  • Easy to last hitting because of good base damage and attack animation.
  • Great stat gaining in level up.
  • Surely disable a guy in fight with Duel.
Cons
  • Low armor.
  • Low base mana but skills cost much mana.
  • Double-edge of Duel that give enemy damage too if you lose.
  • Need to initiate almost any fight with Duel that mean you will instantly be a fixed target and focused by enemies.
  • Need some Armor items like Black King Bar or Blade Mail as fast as you can.
  • Need at least a teammate that can communicate with for getting damages in Early Game.
Good Heroes
Allies
  • Bane is a good choice because of his ultimate that can use as nuking while you are Duel.
  • Earthshaker have many stun skill that can protect enemy from attacking you.
  • Io can Relocate you into any fight or to Duel a lonely farming guy.
  • Lifestealer can Infest you and come out when you Duel.
  • Lina has stun and nuke damage like Laguna Blade.
  • Lion has stun, hex and nuke damage like Finger of Death.
  • Mirana has a 5 seconds stun on Sacred Arrow from the farrest position.
  • Pudge can pull enemy to you and his combo can confirm dead of your duelist.
  • Queen of Pain has a good nuke damage from her Scream of Pain and Sonic Wave.
  • Shadow Fiend has a 3-raze combo and it is easier when you fixed your duelist position with Duel.
  • Skywrath Mage has a nuke damage ultimate skill.
  • Storm Spirit is a nice ganker that better if you fixed the enemy's position for him.
  • Tiny has a Avalanche-Toss combo to confirm dead of your duelist.
  • Tusk can get you in to a fight with his Snowball.
  • Ursa is like almost of you all know, he can combo with anyone that can fix enemy's position for him.
  • Witch Doctor with his Death Ward and healing after Duel.
  • Zeus with his nuke damage skills and ultimate skill from a global cast range.
Enemies
  • Anti-Mage, prevent him from blinking away.
  • Bounty Hunter, prevent him from invisibility.
  • Bristleback, dueling him so that mean your damage didn't reduce by his passive for sure.
  • Clinkz, prevent him from invisibility.
  • Earthshaker, prevent him from using many of his stun skill.
  • Enigma, have him in teamfight but have no Black Hole from him that mean he will be a feeder.
  • Invoker? Can't using skill is just a noob.
  • Nature's Prophet, don't warp please.
  • Riki, if he reveal himself, go duel him as fast as you can before he will missing again. Because he is a nice guy to duel by all of his damage depends on Backstab and how he can backstab you if you duel him?
  • Silencer that can't silence isn't the Silencer anymore.
  • Slark, prevent him from using his ultimate like a gay when he is going to die.
  • Techies, so they can't explode themselves... But wait, make sure you aren't step on their bombs!
  • Terrorblade, no Sunder~
  • Weaver, prevent from using Shukuchi and his ultimate.
  • Windranger, make sure that you duel her before she use Windrun. You will can don't care this anymore after get Monkey King Bar.
Bad Heroes
By Duel Them
  • Abaddon. You can't stop yourself from attacking while Duel right? That means although his ultimate activated, you will still attack him.
  • Alchemist. His regeneration from ultimate is too hard to get him down unless you are have f*cking advantage on that game.
  • Anti-Mage. You are burning your mana away.
  • Enchantress. Her skill, Untouchable will slow your attack down. Don't waste your Duel on her.
  • Huskar. Look like easy because he has very less effect on Spell but don't forget that he is so OP when at low health!
  • Lifestealer. His lifesteal from Feast is as much as your current health.
  • Medusa. In late game, her Mana Shield make her too tanky.
  • Meepo. You can Duel only 1, but he will bring more 4!
  • Phantom Assassin. 50% evasion so pro, you need Monkey King Bar to get her.
  • Spectre. You are a little damaging yourself but don't Duel her if you are alone! Her Desolate is more powerful than you thought.
  • Viper. You are damaging yourself from Corrosive Skin and he is too tanky.
By 'Not' Duel Them
  • Any Disabler that can make you unattackable, usually stunner.
  • Any Nuker to a single hero / small target area.
Skill Build (with Explaination)
About Overwhelming Odds
About this skill, I know many guys try to get max level of this skill as fast as they can, but it didn't give you many advantage in fight. Okay, its damage will increase by enemy in its radius but, at early game we try to get a lonely guy right? So we must get another 2 skills that have more benefit than this skill. Clear? If clear, let's go to next section.

Basic Laning Legion Commander Skill Build

You will need Moment of Courage while laning because...
  • In Off-lane, you need to lifesteal and heal yourself as much as you can because it won't easy to survive in off-lane (suicide lane).
  • In Mid lane, many mid laner is ranged and has nuke skill at early game. Need lifesteal to heal yourself or don't have enough health to get in creep last-hitting war.
  • In Safe lane, in this lane you didn't need this much but if you have a nice support that pull creep for you, so you need to able to tank creep too.
And about Press the Attack is to prepare about Duel after get 6.

Basic Jungling Legion Commander Skill Build

Similar to Laning build, but you need Press the Attack more than Moment of Courage now. Moment of Courage have percentage only 25% that means 4 hits you get lifesteal 1 time. It isn't enough, you need to find another efficiency healing, Press the Attack is your answer. Press the Attack can give you more attack speed too that mean you will get Moment of Courage more.
Laning Item Build (with Explaination)
Basic Item Build (Laning)

Starting Items
  • Tangoes. Really need to explain?
  • Stout Shield. Legion Commander has low armor. Stout Shield can block a little more damage.
  • Quelling Blade. Boost attack damage for easier last hitting.
  • Iron Branch. For more stats. +1 Strenght for more health and damage. +1 Agility for more armor. +1 Intelligence for more mana. Don't look at it like a piece of sh*t, more 19 HP maybe save your life.
Early Game
  • Boots of Speed. Just it? Yeah, save your money guys.
Core Items
  • Blink Dagger. Spent your money that saved for this 2250 item. Initiate a fight like a boss. Surprise them with your Blink Dagger and get damage!
  • Phase Boots. Yeah, Phase Boots. Problem? Phase Boots grant you more damage easier to take down enemy while Duel and grant you more movement speed for following your enemy if isn't success the Duel.
  • Armlet of Mordiggian. Grant your armor (+5), attack speed (+25), damage (+9) while deactivate and grant you strenght (+25) when activate that means if activate, totally grant more damage (+65) and health (+475). It have all stats that you need!
Situational Items
  • Abyssal Blade. Maybe you need just a Skull Basher, but if you can't fight their Hard Carry at all, try this.
  • Aghanim's Scepter. Doesn't recommend this much, basically you can take down guys with that 5.5 seconds at max level.
  • Assualt Cuirass. Recommended. Grant you armor that you are missing and boost your attack speed, easier to get down enemy while Duel. But it is aura too, so if you have tank in your team, try to tell him to buy this for team.
  • Battle Fury. Recommended against Phantom Lancer or Meepo. Clear them faster, easier life.
  • Black King Bar. Recommended against stunner. If you buy this item, you might not care about stunner anymore.
  • Blade Mail. Recommended against nuke physical attack damage like Phantom Assassin. She attack critical? Share damage.
  • Boots of Travel. Recommended if your enemies have assassins like Riki, Bounty Hunter, Clinkz, Spectre, etc. You could teleport to your friend and help him/her!
  • Bottle. I mean for early game if you in Mid lane and you think you need more mana.
  • Daedalus. Boost your damage, I mean giving example, if your damage is 147+312 so when you critical (240%) your damage is 1102 (didn't calculate with armor yet). Really take down that guy you attack.
  • Desolator. If you have problem about your enemy's armor. Desolator is your answer.
  • Divine Rapier. Can't end the game? This is one of your choice that will make your game endable. But not confirm that you will win.
  • Eye of Skadi. Doesn't recommend at all, you can boost your speed with Phase Boots and Overwhelming Odds or instantly move like Blink Dagger. Why you also need slow?
  • Heart of Tarrasque. A good choice after sold Armlet of Mordiggian. Grant many strenght. Then health and damage will follow up.
  • Mjollnir. Another good choice for clearing illusions. Or you can buy just a little hammer, Maelstorm for clearing creeps if the enemy got Super Creeps or Mega Creeps.
  • Monkey King Bar. Recommended, oops no. Needed against evasion. You need True Strike passive for get the evasion heroes.
  • Silver Edge. Doesn't recommend. Instant move like Blink Dagger is still better. But it is just Situational.
Suggested Items
Suggested Items is my "normally" build.
Jungling Item Build (with Explaination)
Items for Jungling

Starting Items
  • Healing Salve. Use it after farm a big camp at early game that you don't have enough efficiency Press the Attack.
  • Clarity. Use it when your mana is out. You must stop farming when your mana is out so while regenerating your mana, go find a lane to gank. Then back farm.
  • Stout Shield. Protect a little more damage from neutrals.
  • Quelling Blade. A little more damage to faster clear neutrals and cutting trees for walking faster from camp to camp.
Early Game
  • Boots of Speed. You can buy it or not is up to you. Because in farming you didn't need it much, you won't trying to running from someone. If you don't buy this, save money for long time and get...
  • Blink Dagger. A little different with laning. You need to get this faster than laning because you have a faster rate of money than laning. If you can't get this in early game, your jungling is failed.
Later
After you get Blink Dagger, follow up this build at Laning Item Build (with Explaination) topic Core Items.
Item that Counter Legion Commander
  • Eul's Scepter of Divinity. As you wasn't the duelist.
  • Scythe of Vyse. As you wasn't the duelist.
  • Blade Mail. As you was the duelist. But you need to have a fast hand for open it and it is also worthless if Legion Commander has Black King Bar.
  • Crimson Guard. As you wasn't the duelist. Activate this for your friend.
  • Linken's Sphere. The best item to counter Legion Commander. To protect yourself from target list if you are paper. Legion Commander has no dislinken abilities and also her items has nothing to use on enemy.
Gameplay (mainly, Early Game)
Early Game in my meaning for Legion Commander is before get Blink Dagger

Safe Lane
In the Early Game, you must stand safe but get every XP from creeps. Legion Commander needs "Level", not "Gold". Stand away from creep and run in to last creep with 1 hit, then back to your position. Do this loop until you are 6. After you get Duel, request a gank from Mid lane or your support. Try to get your first 10 damage before 10 minutes mark. After you get max level of Moment of Courage at level 8, you must always carry TP, gank with your friend, and get more damage.

Mid Lane
In Mid lane, if you playing against ranged skilled heroes (e.g. Lina, Queen of Pain, Storm Spirit, etc.). You maybe buy a Bottle for surviving against them. You can use your Press the Attack to remove debuff (e.g. Queen of Pain's Shadow Strike, Silencer's Last Word, etc.). This will make you easier in lane. In Mid lane, Legion Commander is easy to fail on last-hitting, deny and XP because of melee-ranged. Don't farm this lane for Blink Dagger, go gank after you 6 and let your harder carry farm or trade level with support.

Off-Lane
The main goal of this position is to don't let your tower is destroyed and gaining XP. No need to try to last-hitting and rushing Blink Dagger, instead try finding another cheap, survivable items to help you. Don't care about your damage much in this position. Your main role is to initiate a fight, you will die almost every fight and maybe feeding damages too. So, who you might initiate? The skillful support (e.g. Bane, Earthshaker, Witch Doctor, Enigma, etc.).
Feeding damages to these supports didn't changes the result in late. Dueling these support for your better teamfight. If in teamfight have no ultimate from these supports, it is very much easier for your team.

Jungling
Neutral camps will spawn 30 seconds after the game began. Start farming from a small camps (That supports using for pull lane creeps at Safe lane.) to get XP and Press the Attack for using in bigger camps. After you are level 2, you can now farm medium camps. If want to farm a big camp now, use Healing Salve too. You will can farm big camps after level 4. Don't come out from jungle until you get Blink Dagger. But if you can't get it before 10 minutes mark, that means you are failed.

Mid Game to Late Game
You must always gank, and don't forget to carry TP. You have no need to farm anymore after get Blink Dagger, better to get damage with your friends helping.
