if your Trade is messing up, Steam is having an issue with itself and needs to reinstall its files. The easiest way to do this is to delete them and let the autoupdater do its thing.

This is actually quite easy.

1. Exit your Steam client (don't just "X out"; "Exit" it!)


2. Navigate to your Steam folder (default on Windows 7 is C:/Program Files x86/Steam) and delete all its contents besides your SteamApps folder (these are your games and you DON'T want to have to reinstall them!)


3. Wait for the delete, then try to start your Steam client. It will redownlaod all its files and should start normally after it's finished. If this doesn't fix your error, start again from Step 1 again until it does
