'Metallic Archaea' D-Walker Farm - Method 1
Greetings girls and boys. Today I would like to share with you a decent method of farming I have been using via the Metallic Archaea Mission. There are other methods but this is the one I used to get some higher ranking soldiers early on. It's quick and once you know to avoid the Skulls smoke it's easy too, as that's pretty much the only challenge in the mission.

What you'll need:
  • D-Walker with Gatling Gun (Armor is a bonus)
  • Upgraded Fulton (only necessary if you want Cargo and Parasites)

Here's the low-down on what you'll get per run assuming you don't mess up:
  • 4x Parasites
  • 8-12x Soldiers with Service Cross Medals
  • Proficiency towards Distinguished Medal
  • Cargo Containers (can only be done once until they respawn again)

Tactic:
Spawn in with D-Walker Gatling, Battle Armor and a shield for some extra defense if you feel like it. You won't need anything else unless you mess up, in which case it's easier to just click Checkpoint and start again.

As soon as you spawn, run right and hop in your D-Walker. If you're fast enough the corrupted soldier that spawns next to it won't knock you out.

Next, drive into the back of the hangar to the right of where you spawn and chill until the Skulls teleport close to you. Murder them with the gatling gun whilst making sure to avoid the smoke they spew out, because it disables D-Walker. Just don't get too close to them, and if they teleport on top of you GTFO to a safe distance as fast as you can. You can stray outside the hanger once they've teleported to you but you're more prone to attacks and there's a higher chance you'll accidentally kill the corrupted soldiers, and that's not what we want.

When you kill the Skulls, providing you want Parasites, jump out of D-Walker and fulton them, then quickly jump back into D-Walker again. Once they all die they'll teleport away and you won't be able to fulton extract them, so it's important you do it before all four of them die.

As soon as the last Skull dies all of the corrupted soldiers will fall unconscious and at this point all you have to do is run around extracting them all (and the cargo containers if it's your first run of the day).

Upon completing the mission hopefully you'll have earned an S rank which, if you're playing as one of your soldiers, will earn you a good amount towards the Distinguished Medal. On top of that, every soldier that you extracted will earn a Service Cross medal, pretty much guaranteeing at least a few A++ - S rank soldiers depending on how far you are into the game (I have completed the story and I usually get two or three S rank soldiers from this each time).
'Wandering Puppets' Side-Op - Method 2
Overall the Metallic Archaea method is a pretty easy, quick way to get a few good soldiers while ranking up the character you're playing as. However if it's only soldiers you're after I recommend switching to the 'Eliminate the Wandering Puppets' side-op once you have unlocked it. Providing you don't complete the side-op, you can just keep farming Service Cross soldiers over and over from the same area. Here's a quick rundown on exactly what you need to do:
  1. Run into the side-op area and fulton any of the corrupted soldiers that you want (just make sure not to extract all of them as completing the side-op will break this method)
  2. Run out of the side-op area. This should force the game to autosave and ensure that the soldiers you captured stay captured.
  3. Run back into the side-op area. Once it finishes saving again, press Escape and Checkpoint. There will be new soldiers with new ranks for you to capture.
  4. Rinse and repeat.

Make sure you've got some tranq weapons or sleep grenades on hand. With tranq weapons you need to get a clean headshot to knock them out, bodyshots don't seem to work. I personally use the basic tranq pistol and tranq sniper both upgraded for extra ammo etc. The soldiers don't do anything until you get close to them so it's extremely easy to just zip around headshotting/extracting them all.
You going to extract him?
I'll update this if I happen to come across any more decent methods. Happy fultoning.

HOW DO YOU UNLOCK THE WANDERING PUPPETS MISSIONS?!

Mod their stats to S++, since zombie soldiers have no AI to begin with, they won't become extremely difficult like normal enemy soldiers (that are S++)

Also if you can grab a puppet soldier and choke them out that works, or if you kick them 3 to 4 times while they're down

For method 2 i personally thought that using the box to travel between locations was a good idea, but this was before i read the guide.

They boost your soldiers stats just like distinguished medals and medals of honor. They're the most difficult to obtain for already existing soldiers, but getting them this way means you can have soldiers with all three medals relatively easily.

The other two are can be earned pretty easily from being the one who kills an intruder on FOBs (Medal of Honor) and completing either story missions or Combat Deployments (Distinguished Service Medal).
