Just go task manager > resource monitor > and end hl2.exe :) you cannot see hl2.exe at task manager .

you should include that if hl2 is not in task manager, you can navigate to the garrysmod folder in steam and run the file called hl2. once you close it, it should act as though garrysmod is closed.
