Indeed, you should pick your skill wisely. SD mid is something you would rarely pick as it doesn't dominate all that many heroes. Distruption is great for getting 1 extra stack of Shadow Poison, so it's also an aggressive tool which you should consider, based on how the game is going. If you're anticipating a gank, and you've got a good opertunity for a Soul Catcher. In any case though, maxing out Soul Catcher 1st should be your top priority, as it's easier to land during the early game and its efficiency is much higher than Distruption.

I think it's still worth to get Disruption as soon as possible. It is, basically, your only escape.

However, I do understand what you're aiming at. I guess everyone should just remember to avoid using that Level 2 point as soon as you get it, just to be cautious.
