/r/playdate BG Trilogy Mod Guide for Non-EE Copies
By Dahitman
I'm sorry this is not for your Enhanced Editions.

This guide was tested and written for Baldur's Gate: The Original Saga and Baldur's Gate 2 Complete, to be played in multiplayer through both games in one modded game. This is the documentation of the process of what is required for for Baldurs Gate Trilogy Mod (aka BGT-WeiDU) so you can use the same characters you've created, and streamlined like it is one game.

Requirements
You will need the following:
If you want to host, you need to have physical access to your router/modem or the ability to obtain its admin login for port forwarding.
1-2: Install the Gates in the same directory
Install Baldur's Gate: The Original Saga in directory X:/YourGatesFolder/
Install Baldur's Gate II Complete in directory X:/YourGatesFolder/

So you end up having

X:\YourGatesFolder\Baldur's Gate
X:\YourGatesFolder\Baldur's Gate 2
3-5: Baldur's Gate 2 Fixpack
3. Download Baldur's Gate 2 Fixpack (here)[www.gibberlings3.net] and extract it to your Baldur's Gate II directory.

4. Run the extracted contents, setup-bg2fixpack.exe.

5. Yes for every option that pops up except for...

During the second prompt, "Game Text Update".

Select 1 for "GTU Light by Wisp"

At a later prompt, choose [Skip] for "Cromwell's Forging Actually Takes A Day".
6-9: Core Baldur's Gate Trilogy Mod
6. Download BGT-WeiDU (here)[www.shsforums.net] and extract it in your Baldur's Gate 2 directory.

(You may need to run it in administrative mode in Windows Vista/7. for the steps below)

7. Extract contents of that download (BGT118-Install.rar), run Setup-BGT.exe, follow its instructions.

Select Yes to biff all new resources.

8. Enter Baldur's Gate I's directory when asked (if not already provided).

9. Wait for BGT-WeiDU to finish installing.
10-16: Unfinished Business to the end of installations.
10. Download and install Baldur's Gate 1 Unfinished Business (here)[www.pocketplane.net] as well as BG 2 Unfinished Business (here)[www.pocketplane.net]. These mods restore things that were previously cut from the released product, so while you don't need them, and they do add new content, they're pretty nice to have, especially if this is not your first time.

When prompting installation for BG1, install in BG2's folder, as it is now, baldur's gate trilogy, containing both Baldur's gate 2 and BG1's content

remember setup-bg1ub.exe goes into BG2's folder aka where BGT was installed. Same with setup-ub.exe

In setup-ub.exe select everything. Except at the second last after "Feralan Kit" DO NOT INSTALL "Sarevok's Remose".

11. Take a deep breath because it's almost done.

12. Go to your Baldur's Gate 2 directory, then find and run the file Setup-BGTMusic.exe and select 'Hybrid Baldur’s Gate/Shadows of Amn/Throne of Bhaal music'. This makes it possible to hear the original Baldur's Gate music when playing Baldur's Gate 1.

13. Another deep breath (this is place holder in order to be compatible when cross referencing guides on GOG).

14. Download and install Bigger Fonts for BGII mod (here)[www.shsforums.net], because on a wide-screen mod below, it "pushes" the stage further away from your monitor so you would have to read really tiny fonts.

Folder to paste font content in, make sure you're pasting .bam files directly and not the actual font mod folder.
(X:\YourBaldurGates\Baldur's Gate 2\override)

15. Download the widescreen mod (here)[www.gibberlings3.net] and apply it in the same manner as the fixpack. This makes it possible to play the game in high resolutions and in widescreen format.

16. Remove the Baldur's Gate I installation if you wish - it's done its job!

(Before step 10, you could have removed the original BG1's directory, and it would have been okay because BG2 contains the trilogy now.)
For multiplayer (hamachi) and hosting (port forwarding)
Here[www.straferight.com] is a A very detailed guide on how to get hamachi working for bg sessions.

Make sure your firewall permits, because you might connect but crash a lot due to anti-virus firewall settings. (windows defender being the main culpurit for two of our player sessions when they tried to join)

Ports to forward on both TCP and UDP (if you're hosting).

End: 2400

End: 6073

Editor's Notes
I should add an intro to why we're installing everything this way, TLDR I'm going to make a playdate post about this, for people that want to play BGT, people that tweak out of the ordinary won't be compatible with other players' multiplayer, this guide is not the best, but the most vanilla way to play BGT for compatibility among players.

Future: Going to revise this for more detail and port all the walkthroughs for hamachi here.

Also source[www.gog.com] for original guide.

Add this in a section, baldur.ini within BG2 directory, ASyncEnumeration=1 can be added under the [Multiplayer] section for less crashes? (maybe) but more lag.

Add this in a section too, http://gibberlings3.net/forums/index.php?showtopic=24798

for crashes weidu larloch's minor drain crash

does EE version of multiplayer work with the same methods?

Because they existed before the abominations that are the EE...versions. Necro, but whatever, it was a dumb question.

If it's not for the Steam version then why is it here?
