So whats wrong???

Windows 7/8/8.1/10 Users do not have this stupid thing which is required to run Red River.
Without this the game can not be launched.
All you need to do is install the program and the game should run.

The official Microsoft website stopped supporting Live however you can still download it from other places

How to fix it?

1) FIRST, download the program from any link above ^ ^ ^ ^ ^ ^

2) Download, run setup and install it.

3) Launch it

3a) (Optional) Register/Login to have you progress saved.

4) Play the game and have fun.

GFWL did work for OF:DR but i doesn't anymore. After several launches, the game now just shows a black screen and shuts down. The same thing with OF:RR but here I I couldn't get the game to work at all. The same thing - black screen for a few sec and shut down. I even tried running both games in compatibility mode with Windwos XP SP3 & Visa...

Installed GFWL, created an account, but the game doesn't ever log me in, it's permanently stuck on GFWL "Loading" screen.

you dont need gfwl, go download xlive.dll file from bulletstorm (comment already listed with link) and extract to game directory, works fine, just be prepared to play until mission 8 then youll encounter game breaking bug and uninstall lol

Try googling Microsoft Live for Windows. If that doesnt work maybe try running a VM on ur pc with win7

Really looked forward to play both again

This Virtual Machine is akinda Emulator? How does it affect Steam. I run the Game normally then just with VM in the background?
