What's the Goal?
Currently, and when FTF is first released, there is one multiplayer game play mode. Domination.

Domination Mode

Your goal is to destroy your opponent. Buildings can be destroyed. Workers can be killed. But the real key to success is taking out your opponent's flags.

Flags are how a player claims and controls land. Each flag has a radius of control. Within that radius the player can place buildings and workers. If a building's surrounding flags are destroyed the building will burn to the ground unless another flag is quickly added. Workers and siege weapons can move beyond the range of a flag to deliver bombs, collect raw materials or bombard enemies from a different location.

Flags are considered destroyed when the flag itself touches the ground.

When a player loses their last flag. It's over. Dunzo. Take a seat.

A player wins when they are the last one standing! Steam leaderboards will track the number of players beat - i.e. if you finish 2nd out of 4 you will have beaten 2 players and lost to 1.

Future FTF Game Modes

FTF is a great potential platform for different game modes. These may include a 'Capture the Flag', 'King of the Mountain', 'Secret Missions' and any other number of modes...

Single Player Challenges
At launch Fracture the Flag will feature single player resource based challenges. These levels are there to allow players to figure out controls and learn how to quickly gather resources before jumping into PvP!

Steam leaderboards will track your best time for each type of challenge.

Future single player challenges will potentially add simple combat challenges.

Buildings. What do they do?
Each building in Fracture the Flag has its own unique roll. Many buildings produce useful bits such as bombs or siege weapons. Other buildings simply store the raw goods for later use.

Many buildings can be placed from the start of a new game, but some such as the construction yard and barracks will require tech upgrades.

Flag

While not technically a building Flags are the key structure in Fracture the Flag. Each flag has a circular area of control (AoC) - which can be upgraded to cover a larger area. Other buildings can only be built within the AoC of a Flag you own. AoC's can and should overlap. However Flags have a limit to house closely they can be placed to other flags - preventing turtling of sorts. If a flag is destroyed the AoC is lost. If buildings are not longer within a AoC they will quickly burn to the ground - thus overlapping flag AoC's provides a level of security.

Flags are considered to be destroyed with the flag itself touches the ground.

Flags are also the sole source of the "build points" which function as a currency/resource. Build points are required to construct all buildings and recruit new workers. Each flag contributes build points at constant time intervals - nothing must be done to collect build points.

Constructing flags requires lumber and stone.

Warehouse

The warehouse is the cornerstone of Fracture the Flag's economy. While warehouse's don't produce anything on their own they are the storage sites for all raw materials. Lumber, stone and minerals are brought to the warehouse by workers and stored until needed.

Warehouses should be placed near to raw resources to help reduce the travel time of workers. Resources delivered to one warehouse are available at other warehouses.

The destruction of a warehouse results in a loss of collected resources. The amount lost is relative to the total number of warehouses built - losing your last warehouse does not result in the loss of all collected resources.

Constructing a warehouse requires lumber, stone and build points.

Ammo Depot

This is where all the ammo comes from to pummel your opponents. Stone is turned into ammo for the catapults and wood is turned into arrows for the ballista. There is a limit to how much ammo can be stored at the depot.

Ammo depots should be placed a safe distance from enemy fire, but close enough to siege weapons to keep the supply lines short.

Constructing an ammo depot requires lumber and build points.

Bomb Depot

Bombs are very powerful and very effective at destroying walls, flags and other buildings. The tricky part is the delivery of the bombs which must be done by hand or rather by the hands of your workers.

Bomb depots use minerals and build points to create bombs. A worker must be assigned to the bomb depot to build the bombs. Workers must also be recruited in order to deliver the bombs.

Constructing a bomb depot requires lumber, stone and build points.

Barracks
The barracks serve as a requirement point to turn workers into melee units. Recruitment of each melee unit requires an additional tech upgrade.

Melee units can be recruited from the barracks context menu. Recruited workers will run to the barracks to arm themselves before being available for deployment.

Mine

Mines produce minerals that are stored in the warehouse. Workers must be assigned to the mine and will haul buckets of minerals out of the depths and back to the warehouse.
Mines can only be placed at particular points on each map - making them of strategic and economic value! In general mining points are up against hills or snow capped mountains.

Constructing a mine requires lumber and build points.

Quarry

Quarries produce stone which is needed to produce buildings and ammo for catapults. Like mines, workers must be assigned to a quarry in order for the quarry to produce stone.

Quarries are pre-placed on the map at specific locations and can not be built.

Lumber Mill
A lumber mill takes the raw wood collected by workers from the forests and mills it into a useable form. The wood is then used to construct building and to create ammo for the ballista.

Before the wood can be used it must be transported to a nearby warehouse.

Workers must be assigned to the lumber mill. Without upgrades only three workers can be assigned to each lumber mill. Workers harvesting trees will deliver to the nearest lumber mill. Currently there is no animation for workers at the lumber mill... So don't worry if they are just standing in the middle of the building.

Constructing a lumber mill requires only build points.

Fletcher

The fletcher has been postponed to a potential later version or maybe functionally replaced by guard towers.

Construction Yard
The factory will use wood, minerals and build points to construct siege weapons. Workers will need to be assigned to the factory in order to produce siege weapons. The time required to produce a siege weapon is reduced with each worker assigned to the construction yard.

Both ballista and catapults can be produced at the construction yard, but require additional tech upgrades before construction can begin.

Constructing a factory requires lumber and build points.

Walls

Walls are made of stone and help to protect your building, workers and valuable economy. Walls provide a durable barrier to enemy bombers and help to funnel enemy traffic into narrow paths where archers, traps, or guard towers can devastate!

Building walls requires stone and build points.

Traps

Traps currently come in two flavors. Fire and Plague.

Fire Traps Produce a one time large explosion that hits all workers or siege weapons passing through the area of effect. A couple fire bombs is enough to seriously slow down a band of swordsman. The fire duration is currerntly at 5 seconds.

Plague Traps are slower acting but keep giving... Workers become infected and can infect other nearby workers. The damage is slow, but could quickly devistate a small base. And yes, you can pass the infection between players.
Workers. What can't they do?
Workers are the jack of all trades. Workers take on any role assigned to them. No special unit creation needed!

Select workers by left clicking and assign them to a task, building or siege weapon by right clicking. Workers can be reassigned at any point - one known bug is the reassignment of swordsman which can break the workers ability to ... well, work.

The workers context menu will show the current health and job assigned.

There is no direct control of the positioning of workers with the except of melee units. To move melee units such as swordsman select individual or groups of swordsman and right click the desired position. Holding shift will all way points to be queued.

Melee Units can be selected in groups and will arrive at new positions in formation. Units will attack any nearby enemy units or buildings once they arrive to their new position. Right clicking on a enemy worker, siege weapon or building will cause the melee units to target that object.
Siege Weapons. Flinging Stuff is Fun!
Fracture the Flag features two types of siege weapons. All siege weapons must be loaded with ammo that must be hauled from an ammo depot by worker.
Siege weapons can be set on continuous fire mode or non-continuous mode.

Siege weapon accuracy and range are both upgradeable.

Damage is determined not by hitting, but by a splash like effect. The further away the less damage is done.

Load a Siege Weapon: Select an idle worker by left clicking on the worker and then right clicking on the siege weapon. The worker begin to continuously load the weapon. The speed of reloading is determined by the length of the supply line from the ammo depot to the weapon and the speed of the worker which can be upgraded.

Fire a Fiege Weapon: Select the weapon by left clicking on the weapon then right click on the desired target. A queue or list of targets can be formed by holding shift and repeatedly clicking on targets. The siege weapon will then fire at each target in succession. If the siege weapon is on continuous fire mode it will continuously cycle through the queue or list of targets. The list of targets can be cleared by right clicking on a new target without holding the shift key.

To fire at a point in the terrain hold CTRL or Commmand while right clicking. Holding SHIFT and CTRL will create a queue of targets.

Moving Siege Weapons: To move a siege weapon select the unit and right click on the terrain. The siege weapons will only move to a empty location on the terrain. Hold SHIFT to create waypoints. Seige weapons will not fire will moving.

Catapults

Catapults fling massive boulders down on your opponents walls and buildings. Catapult ammo takes the high and lofty road making them great to launch over walls and even mountains to reach enemy structures.

Due to their trajectory catapults are best at taking out buildings and are less effective at dismantling walls.

Ballista

Ballista fire huge arrows perfect for blasting through walls. Ballista arrows are almost line of sight weapons taking a low angle trajectory. This low trajectory means they can take down walls more effectively than catapults.
It's the economy stupid!
If your economy grinds to halt so will your efforts to win...

The economy is based around 4 resources wood, stone, minerals and build points.

Wood
Wood is collected by harvesting trees and processing them into useable wood. Assign workers by right clicking on a nearby tree. Workers will chop the tree down and take it to the nearest lumber mill. Workers will continue to harvest trees that are closest to the lumber mill they just dropped off at.

Trees will slowly regrow over time. Trees must be approximately half grown before than can be harvested again.

Stone
Stone is collected by workers from a quarry. Without upgrading a maximum of five workers can be assigned to each quarry. The stone is taken directly to the nearest warehouse with no additional processing needed.

Minerals
Minerals are collected from mines. Mines must be built at suitable points on the map - highlighted in green when trying to place a mine. With out upgrading a maximum of 5 workers can be assigned to each mine. The minerals are taken directly to the nearest warehouse with no additional processing needed.

Build Points
Build points serve as a basic currency required to build everything! Build points are generated by flags at a constant time interval. If you need more build points then add another flag.
Upgrade, upgrade, upgrade!
Most everything in Fracture the Flag can be upgraded! Upgrades are purchased with build points. All upgrades cost the same. However, the price of the "next" upgrade will increase with each new upgrade. Choosing your first few upgrades is a crucial piece of the strategy in Fracture the Flag.

Access upgrades through the tech tree - menu buttons are under the mini map.

Menus and other useful bits.
All menus can be opened with buttons under the mini-map or hotkeys that can be reassigned (see the settings menu).

Build Menu
The build menu is where you go to build something... Buildings, workers, walls and flags can all be found here. The menu will expand as tech upgrades allow access to new buildings.

Worker Menu
This menu lists all your workers. Great tool if you lose a workers or want to find a worker doing a particular job.

Weapon Menu
This menu lists all your siege weapons. Don't want to scroll to find the most recently built catapult? Find it at the bottom of the list!

Tech Tree
This is were all the upgrades happen. The price of the next upgrade is displayed in the middle. Green upgrades can be purchased next. Red upgrades require another upgrade first.

Yellow upgrades are not available in the current build and are the target of "stretch goals."

Options Menu
Want to quit? Change a setting? This is your menu!

Game Settings
This menu can be accessed through the "option menu." You can adjust the graphics settings, tool tips, hints, brightness and a bunch of bits. This is also were you can rebind any of the hotkeys.

the game is very enjoyable but there are so many bugs like when one bomber blow up my lumber mill those workers glitched out. But the real problem is how OP AI is. Like the enemy AI starts with a insanely grown up base and starts bombing druns while I am trying to build a mine

@Wehrmacht Soldaten

To get you men to patrol first select the group, click "patrol" on the popup menu, then hold shift and right click to select waypoints.

As for the red upgrades those are slated as "stretch goals" and are not yet implemented.
