Isles of Stockholm: Stockholms Skärgård

This map was a request. Initially we wanted Stockholm itself, but one that reflects the actual terrain, which is much more rounded hills and even exposed rock faces. I am not terrific at making exact replicas of locations, so I had to go back to my "capture the essence of the place" type of map making. I hope you all like it!

This map is inspired by Stockholms Skärgård, the expansive archipelago that forms Stockholm and its many outlying towns and villages. It's a beloved summer vacation region, where the city dwellers venture out to enjoy nature among the multiple thousands of islands.

This map has all the usual required features to ensure a successful and fun game experience.

Unusual feature: This map was requested to be the opposite of flat (I also happen to like that!). The main island at the start area has two large level areas where you can place large areas that need totally flat terrain (like airports, large buildings, etc).

The highways run ground level to reflect the actual location.

Much more ore than oil (it is Sweden after all), both of which are mostly hidden from view of the most scenic areas, so you have a large central area that is unspoiled and can look like the Skärgård's more natural countryside areas.
