If someone is spamming you, H-Hour does have a Mute option. While in the lobby, click the icon to the right of the player's name. This will mute the player in the chatroom & the ingame VOIP.

If the behavior is beyond what you believe is acceptable, there are other things you can do to protect yourself and deal with the situation. Any escalation like this requires documentation/proof of the event so be prepared to take screenshots (F12 in game) of the contents in chat or record the bad behavior (audio or video). Neither Valve nor SOF Studios can act without proof and both will be reluctant to become involved if the matter is not serious. How seriously something will be taken will depend on what the trangression is and how many report. So if you have witnesses, ask them to also send in their version of events.

I strongly encourage everyone to try and resolve these events at the lowest level possible and before the situation escalates to a point where it needs a report. Try to resolve on your own first and do not respond in a belligerent manner with the person involved as this only makes it more difficult to see who is at fault. Reporting is serious business and investigations can occur that may affect the reported person or even the reporter themselves. Take some time to think things through before taking this step.

Some people are just that good, not everyone who is good is a hacker.

The studio and Valve will only react where evidence is provided. That evidence at this point is gathered through backend anti-cheat programs and automatically responded to by the anti-cheat provider.

When you believe someone is hacking and you want to report them, take a video of the incident. I encourage you to closely review that video afterwards as sometimes what you think you saw and what really happened are two different things. Videos tend to show the real picture. If you still believe the video clearly shows the hack, please create a report and submit the evidence using the information on reporting below.

Below I will go over a few ways you could report these instances to both Valve & SOF Studios.

Clear evidence of these acts is necessary & may need to be confirmed from other players. Pictures might be fine in some cases but Video is preferred. Do not upload such material to Steam or even the studio given sizes involved. Host it privately elsewhere & link to it within the report.

Method one, inform the Studio:

• Send an email to: office@sofstudios.com
  
• Make sure your report is structured with as much detail as possible of your claim, with links to pictures &/or video as well.

Method two, notify Steam:

There are two ways to do this in Steam. One is through the user steam profile, the other is through their email support system.

For the profile method:

• Players you've recently played with are logged in Steam. First, locate the Steam profile of the hacker or harasser. This can be done from within the in-game steam overlay(Alt+Tab):
  
• Click "View players" (located at the center-left area of the overlay).
  
• A user profile can also be located within the Steam client itself too. In the uppermost tabs, click "View" & then "Players".
  
• Now that you have the profile. Click the "More" option (located on the right).
  
• Catagories are listed in this menu.
  
• Choose the one best fitting your report & fill out the summary as highlighted above.

Reports may also be sent to an external steam support site: https://support.steampowered.com/

Reports such as these are not taken lightly by Valve. Do not abuse these functions in any way or actions can be taken against you.
