Changelog
4 May 2017
- Added a couple of new mods, including the demo version of an upcoming mod known as Shadows of Chaos.
- Fixed the main launcher. Old one had the incorrect version number, even.
- Updated the game executables to the newest version, HexenWorld to HoT 1.5.8 and base game to a custom binary with BSP2 support, needed to play the mod I mentioned.
- Patch is now unified, download one file for whatever number of your system's bits.
- Fixed config files.
- Patch is now hosted at my personal website. Right now, unable to update the ones on Hexenworld.org, soon I will provide mirror links.
Sorry for taking so long, but I was lazy and unmotivated due to school and such.

13 March 2016
- "Paladin=Quake Ranger" mutator split into "Quake 1 player sounds" and "Paladin's weapons replaced with those of Quake 1"
- Project Peanut updated from version 0.20 to 0.36.
- Updated Hammer of Thyrion binaries to proper 1.5.7 release.
- Patch is now hosted at HexenWorld.org , courtesy of the people from the Raven Games forum group. Thank you for allowing me to do so.

28 December 2015
- added console command list/guide in text/html form to the "help" folder(surprised I hadn't put it there before, apologies)
- added a new mutator: "Quake 2 Player Sounds"
- updated guide to show better information about additional advice regarding useful commands. Wanted to do this before, but I forgot about it. Sorry. Better late than never.

17 September 2015 - Version 1.01
- added "Additional advice" section to the guide, along with some other things
- maps intended for use with "Project Peanut" can only be launched with that mod now
- Fixed a sound bug in "Ahumado's Skull"
- Changed "Server" to "Dedicated server" in order to avoid confusion with listen servers made in-game
- Patch is now packed in 7zip instead of WinRAR. Now the GUI is much simpler(without any unnecessary features) and no longer in Polish language(Thanks to Foxysen for spotting that embarassing mistake!), it's in English. Also, it's better compressed (262 MB as opposed to 314 MB, knowing that uncompressed size is 583 MB).

If updating from previous version, ensure to delete the "maps" and "midi" folders in ".../Hexen 2/data1" before extracting in order for everything to work as intended.

22 August 2015 - Version 1.00
-The first official release.
Features:
- Compatible 100% with modern Windows, both 32-bit and 64-bit!
- You have an easy to use interface to acces every Hexen 2, Hexen World, mods and dedicated servers from a single place! No need to go into folders or play with command line parameters!
- Uses Hammer of Thyrion, probably the best source port of Hexen 2 around. Includes countless bug fixes(no more irritating crashes!), ability to change resolution within the game(no playing with parameters needed!), ability to scale HUD and text for higher resolutions(no more pain in trying to read what's on the screen!), folder based MP3/OGG music support(no CD needed for music), and it is fully compatible with vanilla saves and mods, so it's quite purist friendly.
- Includes a fancy new title screen! There's one for the base game and one for the expansion! If you dislike it though, you can just delete "Hexen 2/data1/Autoexec.cfg" and "Hexen 2/portals/autoexec.cfg". It's only a demo that plays when you boot the game, so it's not really purist unfriendly or anything.
- No more stupid silence! Hexen 2 has MIDI music, but it's really not as good and atmospheric as CD music, so after hearing CD songs you will not want to go back to using MIDI. This patch contains them.
- Includes the missing expansion pack, that's not included in the Steam version!
- Includes every map or modification for Hexen 2/HexenWorld ever made(well, at least every one I managed to find)! Mods can be easily accesed from my custom menu, no command line parameters needed!
- Bonus videos and other files included! The "Extras" folder contains the missing intro to this game, make sure to watch it sometime!
- Expanded "help" files! Now includes list of commands, Official FAQ and Mission Pack help!
- Setting up multiplayer games is much easier now!

Many of the maps/mods were made ages ago, so there's no way to contact their creators. If you desire your creation to not be included in this pack, contact me and I will remove it(although honestly you will be a real weirdo if you do so. What's the point of forcing people to go to more than one location in order to get everything Hexen II related if gathering everything in one location is easy enough due to not much content for the game being released nowadays? Also, I try fix errors in some mods or maps in order for them to work perfectly.)

If there is something missing, or something acts wrong, comment below!
Download and install instructions:
Download this file:
-Download here[jakub-majewski.com]

After downloading the file, run it. Ensure the folder path is the same as your Hexen 2 Steam folder. By default it should be either C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Hexen 2 or D:\SteamLibrary\SteamApps\common\Hexen 2 , except that the drive letter can be different. If none are correct, you can check what the correct path should be by right-clicking "Hexen II" in your Steam library, then clicking "Properties", then click "Local Files" and "Browse local files". Copy the path to the folder that just opened into the program. Afterwards, click "Extract" and after it's done extracting, close it. Now you should be able to play the game via Steam with my new patch.

The patch doesn't contain any malware, so if your antivirus disallows you to use it properly, disable it or make an exception in the settings.

Happy Hexen II playing!
Additional advice
Multiplayer servers
To set up a multiplayer server, simply do so from the "Multiplayer" menu in-game to create a listen one, or use one of the options in the launcher included in my patch to create a dedicated one. For the servers to work, they require port forwarding, which should be easy enough, consult your router manual or manufacturer. Hexen II server requies port 26900, while HexenWorld server requies port 26950, both TCP/UDP, and you should set rules in the firewall.

Useful keybinds
Some functions in the game cannot be bound from the in-game menu, yet they can be quite useful. Assume X as the key you want to bind(or the name of it) and type the following commands in the console or config file when necessary:

alias waterfixon "r_wateralpha 1;bind X waterfixoff"
alias waterfixoff "r_wateralpha 0.33;bind X waterfixon"
bind X waterfixon
For some people lava may flicker a lot, so setting the liquids to to be nontransparent fixes this. By using the above commands you will be able to toggle between transparent and nontransparent liquids with a press of a key of your choice.

bind X "impulse 33"
In Portal of Praevus, this command allows you to see the world from the eyes of a friend in coop for a while. Quite nice.

bind X messagemode
Type normal chat messages. Useful when unbound due to weird config.
bind X messagemode2
Same as above, except messages sent will only be seen by players in your team.

alias tppon "chase_active 1;bind X tppoff"
alias tppoff "chase_active 0;bind X tppon"
bind X tppon
After typing in the above commands you will be able to switch between 1st Person Perspective and 3rd Person Perspective with the press of a key.

bind X "+jump;+moveup"
If you wished to combine jumping and swimming/flying upwards to a single key, type the above in the console or config file.
bind X "+crouch;+movedown"
If you wished to combine crouching and swimming/flying downwards to a single key, type the above in the console or config file.

bind X +hook
Some mods supply you with a grappling hook. Use the above command to bind it.

alias zoom_in "sensitivity_save save;sensitivity 2;fov 90;wait;fov 70;wait;fov 50;wait;fov 30;wait;fov 10;wait;fov 5;bind X zoom_out"
alias zoom_out "sensitivity 4;fov 5;wait;fov 10;wait;fov 30;wait;fov 50;wait;fov 70;wait;fov 90;bind X zoom_in; sensitivity_save restore"
bind X zoom_in
This is a zoom in/out function, by default it is bound to F11 and '. You can use the above commands to bind that function to whatever key you wish. (Thanks to Makek for discovering this feature by randomly pressing every key on the keyboard.)

Why is the cd music playing a smashing pumpkins album? I want to find this album and get rid of it. Where can I find the cd music for this? I've never downloaded a smashing pumpkins album in my life. Dudes voice is irritating.

@Unseen, yeah, virus scanning programs will sometimes misinterpret legitimate files as malicious. This happens when the detection rules are overly broad or when the software encounters unfamiliar behavior that resembles that of malware. As you mentioned, just create an exclusion rule for the flagged file(s).
Unseen 27 Jun @ 7:01pm
Ok fixed it, just like on user said just exclude the GL file after unzipping it. Then turn your anti virus stuff back on. Should boot from steam. You better not be spying on me dude. It's an amazing version though looks like a remaster.
Unseen 27 Jun @ 6:59pm
Wait but why does it display it as a virus I played this once and it was fantastic. 2nd boot windows took it away like I was a kid with a hustler.
