"Ha Ha! I just killed you noob! Go cry into your gibus!" That isn't very polite is it? I didn't think so. A simple "Nice try!" or "Better luck next time" would've been much more suitable. Most players have no idea how rude they really are to eachother. Luckily, this guide is here to teach you tha basics of being a polite gentlemercenary. (credit to yourcotw for the video)

Being polite to your teammates is very simple. Just follow these instructions and you will be concidered a gentleman to your team.

-When you get assisted by a teammate, it's nice to use one of 3 voice commands; Thanks! (Z+2) Nice Shot! (C+7) and/or Good Job! (C+8)

-After getting healed by a medic/dispenser, it's nice to say thanks.

-If playing as heavy and you see an enemy who needs health more than you do, give your sandwich to him and go find a health pack for yourself.

-If you call for a medic and they use the crusader's crossbow, stand still so they can heal you easier.

-Don't get in the way of a sniper if he is scoped. In fact, don't get in the way of anyone unless you are saving them like the medic in that Muselk video

-Don't spam voice commands (X+4, X+5, X+6, E, and Z+1 are the really annoying ones to spam)

-If your medic is taking damage, don't ignore him. If you are a pyro and he is on fire, extinguish him. If you are another medic, heal him. If you are a heavy, throw a sandwich at him.

-Remove sappers from friendly buildings whenever you are playing as engie or homewrecker pyro.

-If playing as pyro, extinguish your teammates whenever you can

-If another person playing as pyro extinguishes you, thank them. I can only recall 2 people thnking me for extinguishing them before. Only 2...

Also, if someone offers to partner taunt with you, you should. Not because it makes you look polite, but because partner taunts are fun.

Yes, I did just say that. I don't mean not killing them and letting them win, I just mean not treating them like that guy who stole all your hershey's kisses and pushed you in the mud in third grade. Basically, when you kill an enemy, don't be a jerk about it. If you want to be very polite, say something like "Better luck next time!" Note that this could get you killed so you might want to bind a key to say it in chat for you. Also, don't taunt after every kill unless you are a sniper and have your melee weapon out. And most importantly, DON'T KILL FRIENDLIES. This will only make you look like a jerk.
