When you are set to go with clothing, medical supplies, food, and water, you might want to get your hands on something that will kill the zombies.

A couple weapons you'll find along the way through the town are:

Baseball bat
Hockey Stick
Golf Club
Rake
These are examples of weapons that aren't too powerful, but will get the job done for now.
If you can get into somebody's kitchen, you might find:
Butcher Knife
Kitchen Knife
Those are a little more useful than your average golf club. They do more damage, but have less range, so be careful!

Now, there are some melee weapons that have 2 purposes, but you should mainly use them for crafting instead of fighting.
Axe/Fireaxe - Used to cut down trees.
Chainsaw - Somewhat useful to fight, doesn't do much damage. Also used for cutting trees.
Saw - Used for crafting.
Sledgehammer - destroys metal and sandbags easily. Swings slowly, has long range.

And finally, the knives you see most people using. And for a good reason, too.
Butterfly Knife - Does the most damage in the game, but has very short reach.
Military Knife - very common at military areas and does high amounts of damage.
Swiss Knife - Found at most camp grounds and does almost as much damage as the military knife.

That's what I know about the melee weapons, now, we can get to the fun part: GUNS!

There's many different types of ranged weapons in Unturned. If you can find a gun with ammo, that's good, but having ammo for it at all times is pretty challenging.
A list of guns obtainable in the game, and what they do is below.

Colt - Probably one of the first guns you'll find, the colt is a simple pistol with very little damage.

Cobra - A little more rare than the colt, it accepts attachments on the barrel, has an automatic firing state, and takes 30 round clips. Considered to be one of the best pistols in the game.

Ace - A magnum pistol, pretty uncommon and is a rare drop from zombies that are killed. Medium-High damage.

Desert Eagle - The big Daddy of all pistols, it's a very high recoil, but high damage pistol that people don't even call a pistol, it's more of a hand cannon. It is rarely found at Military Locations.

Maplestrike - A very common find at Military locations, kills most zombies in one hit to the head, automatic fire, and is relatively easy to refill.

Zubeknakov - You might recognize this as the AK47, almost exactly alike to the Maplestrike, it's a little less common than it, and can only be found at ranger locations. Also inaccurate at long ranges.

Eaglefire - Almost identical to the Maplestrike, but can only be found at the gun shop in Stratford, also has no auto fire.

Honeybadger - Extremely rare find at military locations, this gun is almost elusive. It is internally suppressed, has low recoil, does extra damage against buildings, cars, and barricades, and can be used as a secondary weapon. It's durability is very poor, though.

Bluntforce - Only found and very common at O'leary prison, like most shotguns it is an instant kill at close range, and is relatively easy to refill ammo. Like all shotguns, it is useless at long range.

Masterkey - Found at farms, campgrounds, and sheds, this gun is does a lot of damage and can hit multiple enemies at once, but only has 2 shots in it, so use them wisely or reload quickly.

Schofield - Very common rifle, accurate while looking down the sites, but is very loud and large in the inventory. Only has 5 shots, too.

Hawkhound - Another common rifle found at barns, campgrounds, and sheds. It has 8 rounds, which is more than the schofield and does a good amount of damage to enemies.

Rifle - Easy to craft, easy to repair, and the easiest to get ammo for. Does great amounts of damage and is an overall very good rifle. It looks beat up and dull on the outside, but it's actually a very good weapon to start with.

Sportshot - Found at campgrounds, the gun store, and farms, the sportshot is a very low recoil rifle with a high rate of fire and is relatively quiet for a rifle. Sadly, it doesn't do much damage against players at all, so it's not the best idea to use on a PvP server.

Timberwolf - Rarely found at military locations, this sniper rifle does high damage and is refilled somewhat easily. It has amazing accuracy, but high recoil and is very loud. It also cannot be silenced.

Snayperskya - Lots of damage and accuracy, and it can fire a lot more quickly than other sniper rifles. Ammo is uncommon.

Grizzly - Very high damage, military sniper rifle with a LOT of recoil, and decreased clip size. Default iron sights are terrible.

Matamorez - An automatic sniper rifle that is extremely rare, found at ranger locations. Very low recoil, and internally suppressed.

Nykorev - Found at ranger locations, the nykorev is now considered almost useless because of its military counterpart, but it is a gun with high recoil, but lots of ammo and fast fire rate.

Dragonfang - A direct upgrade from the Nykorev, this gun has lower recoil than it's orange counterpart and is a little more easily found at military locations. Nonetheless, still rare.

Bow - A simple bow that can only be crafted, but does high damage, completely silent, and you can get arrows back after you're done killing zombies.

Compound Bow - The slightly better version of the normal bow, it can use wooden and normal arrows, and allows tactical and sight attachments. Easily found at farms.

Crossbow - Arguably the best bow, It can kill military zombies with 1 headshot, has extremely low recoil, completely silent, and can fire from the hip.

Now it's time for the 2 coolest weapons that are almost impossible to find.

The Shadowstalker - This is an elusive gun only found at scorpion-7 science research facility. It rarely spawns in the building and does EXTREMELY high amounts of damage. it is a railgun that has high recoil, high damage, slow reload speed, and ammo that is pretty easy to find in 1 place on the map.

And finally. the grand finale!

The Rocket Launcher - I think we all knew as soon as this was added that it and its ammo would be extremely rare, but do WAY too much damage to everything. This weapon can take down a car in a single hit to any part, because it just explodes. It can most likely destroy anyone's base too, so if you for some reason have a rocket launcher in a PvP server, everyone is screwed.

You might be wondering as soon as you run out of ammo, "hey, how do I refill this gun i just ran out of ammo with?" Well, you're going to need to find a specific set of bullets.
You can craft some gun clips with civilian bullets, some gun clips with ranger bullets, and some guns with military bullets.

There are also guns that take special types of ammo.
Examples:
Any bow - crafted arrow or normal arrow
Shadowstalker - rails.
Rocket launcher - rockets. duh.

To make ammo, all you have to do is take the clip out of your gun, go to the crafting menu or press Y, go to the ammo section, and click the one that will refill your clip. Then, just refill your clip and shoot some more zombies or players!

Hey guys, it's the creator of the guide you just read.
This one in particular took some time to make, because of all the information I had to gather about the weapons, some in particular. The light machine guns were a topic I didn't know much about, because they're pretty bad and I don't recommend using them unless you have to. Go for a maplestrike or something.
Everything up to rifles or so was mostly about what I remember about this game. Some things after that are from memory, but a little bit of it is from research. :D
