How to get x-server.sys back
By Tunnelman
After you delete the Macrosoft files stolen by Naix, he deletes your x-server.sys file.

Here are the codes you need to restore your system.

Part 1: Connecting to Naix's Proxy Server
After the reboot, all you have left is your command prompt. This is because your x-server.sys file was deleted by another hacker by the name of Naix.

Now what you have to do is get another x-server.sys file. Here's how you do that:

First go to your /log directory using cd log. Here, type ls.
In one of the logs you'll find the IP-adress of the hacker. Look at the names of the logs, and you'll see the log that Naix left behind after deleting your x-server.sys file. Write this IP-adress down or something, because you'll need it.

Now, type in the command prompt connect [IP-adress of Naix here]. You'll connect to his Proxy Server.

Type probe to see a list of available ports. You'll see that the proxy is gone, and so are most of the ports. Type SSHcrack 22 to crack open the ports, and then use porthack to get in. You are now connected.
Part 2: Getting the x-server.sys file
From here it is very easy.

Just go to his /sys directory with cd sys. Type ls to see the list of files he has in his /sys directory. If you see the x-server.sys file, just type scp x-server.sys to download the file. It should be immediately in the right directory.

Now connect back to your own IP. If you don't know your own IP-adress, first type cd .., then cd log and then ls. The IP that has downloaded the x-server.sys file, is your IP-adress. You could write this down or you remember it, but for now just type connect [IP-adress here]. After this, just type reboot to reboot your system or reboot -i to reboot your system instantly.
Other way to do it
Another way to do it may be easier.

First you use scan to scan your network and see if there are other IP-addresses connected to yours. One other IP-address should come up, write that one down or remember it or something, and then use connect [IP-address here] to connect to that network. Use cd sys to get ot the /sys directory and then use scp x-server.sys to download the file. After that, connect to your own network using connect[IP-address here]. After that, just type reboot and you're done.
Preventing the reboot
You do need to be quick, but it is possible to stop Naix from rebooting your network. Here's how you need to do it:

The last thing before Naix shuts down your pc is execute the Forkbomb. It's an executable file that you have as well. It overloads the systems RAM causing the system to crash, shut everything down, and reboot. But when you see that he started the forkbomb (it happens when you see random numbers flashing around the left side of the screen) there are a few simple things you'll need to do. First you type ps to see all the current processes going on on your network. The only thing you'll need to do is find the processID of the Forkbomb and type kill [processID here]. You still do have to recover your x-server.sys file, but at least you'll have the UI back.

Thanks to Expack for giving me this tip
Too long; didn't read
After the reboot you're connected to your own computer. First, go to the /log directory and find Naix's IP-adress. Connect to that adress and go to his /sys file. There, download his x-server.sys file and connect back to your own device. After this you just have to reboot your system and everything will be back to normal (well, almost back to normal).
Thanks for reading!
Thanks for reading this little guide for me!

Help me and your fellow hackers out and give this guide a high rating, so everyone who gets stuck at this point may know where to go from here.

Any other suggestions for guides, leave a comment below!!

(I will shortly be working on a guide for the last few missions, since that is a great thing where people get stuck)

As someone with insanely VERY BAD A.D.D. I had to refer to this guide. Although I was completely hopeless and for some reason either the game is bugged and I couldn't replace my previous x-server.sys because of the brackets [NAMEHERE]x-server.sys or I completely hosed my save file lmao. I'm actually impressed that's an actual thing. I had to completely restart. This game is awesome though I didn't realize how difficult it can actually be.

Seems like the default for everyone to completely nuke Naix's sys files, amazing

Funny, I just scanned for the IP of that first system my PC connected to and harvested its x-server file - incidentally, it looks identical to Naix's.

Hey so I got to this part and me being the spiteful little shit i am i tried to delete all of his system stuff but accidentally deleted all of my own, I managed to get the UI bit back but the rest of his sys files I yoinked aren't working, meaning I get booted into terminal but with UI elements this time. Is there a fix or do I have to totally restart?
