It's always better to do a clean install of Windows 10 v1809 rather than to 'upgrade' from Windows 7 or 8.1 as this can create problems.

Just use the MediaCreator tool and download Windows 10 v1809 make an .ISO file and burn to a DVD or download to a USB stick.

Performance is no different than compared to boxed Gold...don't be fooled. Placebo effect. For starters FSX: Steam Edition isn't running all the software that the boxed Gold version installs. The default FOV for FSX boxed is set diiferent than the Steam version as well...

It ran perfect for me using Windows 7home premium 64bit edition. Windows 10 64bit when I press any key or anything on the menus the screen goes black and stops responding.

I have windows 10, 4790k, gtx 980 i have no problems with fsx since windows 10 was installed. very smooth, good frame rates. main monitor is a 4k hdmi @ 3840 x 2160. and 2 1920 x 1080. zero problems, also REX HD+.

Your results seem to confirm my subjective observation that Win 10 is slightly slower than Win 7.
