Chekard

Chekard is a fairly flat region with a lot of resources to exploit... But it's not named Chekard for nothing! The major grouping of resources are spread out in a checkerboard pattern, with each section of land containing it's own resources. You start a bit off-center in the area, with no real resources to take advantage of, but afterwards you can begin expanding into another field to get resources. And of course, it's nice and flat for a good urban or farming sprawl, or oil and ore, whatever you think is worth going after.
