@PhazezGova : I´m not sure if it´s the main model or the lod polycount that cause performance issues, even stock assets are pretty badly optimized, my guess is modellers weren´t given time for that.
Some mods that increase distance before lods kick in can be the cause too, my cities never reached very big populations :D
I noticed that changing the Detail Level option in the game helped, since even on high end machines the game started to lag when population increases

I modelled the wheels myself which slightly increased the polycount from the original, I think originally it was like 400 tris
