How to manually unlock additonal offical start options and maps for Beyond Earth.

I decided to write this guide as I think everyone should have access to this content, especially since these start options are available in multiplayer.

Update - After installing the Pre Rising Tide update, you need to unlock this content again

Additional Colonist, Spaceship, Cargo bonuses and maps can be unlocked - Normally these would only be available by unlocking achievements in Starships.

A Glacial map can be unlocked by logging into My2K, which is found at the bottom right corner of the start menu.

Guide is out of date. My2K is a broken site that was hacked that they can't & won't recover. There's no way to link these games anymore.

I wanted to do this but My2k is such a broken website it created a broken, unusable account for me that Starships accepts but Beyond Earth says isn't verified. Oh, and the My2k account thinks I have Steam linked to another account, not to it.

Ok, I removed the lines explained in the article. But nothing changed in my starting options. What do I wrong?

Seems to me like they put a checking system or something, every once in a while my game will take forever to start and I have to make the changes again for them to become available.

Update: Nevermind, it's a reproducible bug. Embarking on the ocean causes you to not recieve your ultrasonic emitter unit.
