There is still luck involved. I was lucky ducky got ** card on turn 4. And I was lucky to clone stupidity instead of one of the damage cards. Provided these two points turn out as described it is possible to die to Ducky as a mime.
In order to get 50 gp just kill the ducky the first time around, go and kill the rat on the right and then keep building dungeon to the right and use all the loot cards you get. Bear in mind that once you abandon quest you will also get extra gold for explored tiles, so keep building dungeon as you collect loot. Make sure not to kill 3rd monster though. After about 10 turns you may end up with 50gp.
To die as a mime talisman of the crone is not needed. But it increases the chances of having the the right cards in your hand when you need them.
