The GM New Look bus, also commonly known by the nickname "Fishbowl" (for its six-piece rounded windshield), is a transit bus introduced in 1959 by Truck and Coach Division of General Motors and produced until 1986. More than 44,000 New Look buses were built. Its high production figures and long service career made it an iconic North American transit bus.

In 2004, the TTC embarked on an ambitious rebuilding program of a number of GM Fishbowls. The buses comprised of a number of its own fleet, plus a few models bought off of Montreal, that would have otherwise been retired and sent to the scrapheap. These vehicles were needed to counteract a shortage of buses on the system resulting from an unexpected surge in ridership, and going for seven years without ordering new buses.

-----

This is based on the T6H5307N model that was used for the rebuilds. I may have gotten a detail wrong here and there if any of my reference shots were of older models.

I won't be doing a generic version of this, specifically, since they only existed in Toronto. I will do some generic New Looks, but they'll be more based on what the bus looked like when most of the continent stopped using them.

I still love this bus... But it is off-centered a little bit. Any chance of getting it fixed??

I'm still around, but I've been too busy to update my buses, unfortuantely. One day...

@ttrucker the author hasnt updated since 2016 so I think its safe to say this mod is abandoned.

Could it be possible to do a second version with the classic TTC colours?

Amazing. Thanks you. Had to subscrube. These busses bring back so many memories.

Just so you know, when Ive used this great assst, it appears to be a bit off of center. If one passes another on two-lane 2 way road, the busses merge through each other. not that big of an issue, but still figured you should know.

It's been a rough couple of months for me so I haven't been able to get the time to sit down and finish this off. If it takes too much longer I'll publish the WIP because it's better than nothing and then update it again later when I have the time.

hey dude you are probably never gonna read this meassage(at least for a while)...
But hey i want some after dark. My Toronto map isnt complete without it. Im starting an NYC map soon and i want a D40 model for the MTA buses. I think you would make that possible.

So is it updated for After Dark?

Very sorry for the delays on getting the AD update out. When I initially re-exported it, I found out that my illumination map was pretty terrible in the dark. I started reworking it, but work has really heated up on my own game since AD launched. I will get back to it as soon as my free time allows.

I'm going to be keeping all of my buses with the same capacity as the stock buses; I don't want to force gameplay changes on people who only want a cosmetic change. (I know my Orion V has adjusted capacity, but I'll be changing that in the next update).

There are several mods that will allow you to adjust the numbers to your liking, though!
